I suspect rain will ruin most of the cc games this week.
It's due to rain until Saturday night in Southampton so little chance of much cricket at the Rose Bowl. No Mitchell Starc, Andrew Gale, or Ryan Sidebottom for Yorkshire so it may not be a bad thing.

Middx in all sorts of trouble at 45-5, playing at the usually flat Uxbridge. At least the England captain - 24* - is still at the crease!

Essex playing Gloucs (come on essex!)
Gloucs 3-0, obviously rain has affected this game so far.

Yeah, it's weird. Averages 23 in first class cricket and yet has only played one Test match... And he averaged 17.5 in that, weird.

Harbajhan singh playing his first game for us, is wicketless after 13 overs! (there's a shock)
Young Reece Topley the pick of the bowlers with 3-70 from 27 overs.

Annoyingly there is a trend from those who wish to avoid the sponsors name to call it West End - the term by which the ground was referred when being built, and before it was christened the Rose Bowl. This simply adds to the confusion. I see no reason to shift from the name Rose Bowl.

Re: County Championship Round 11 Discussion Thread
KP in fine fettle for Surrey today. As I type he is 69 from 58 balls, with left arm spinner Simon Kerrigan coming in for some serious tap.
England's batsmen all seem to be in decent nick, actually, with Bell scoring a 50 yesterday and Strauss currently unbeaten on 100 for Middlesex.
Which no doubt means that England will find themselves 70-6 at The Oval against the Saffers next week.

Really starting to make the scores to back-up the praise he's receiving now. Could well have the stats behind him to step in for Strauss when he eventually departs.

Well played Joe Root, kept the innings together, if we got him early i reckong Yorkshire would of been bowled out for about 160/170

Re: County Championship Round 11 Discussion Thread
Root was the only man past 50 Must have been a great innings.
The game at Uxbridge has become pretty interesting, though with the weather that's been around it will almost certainly end up a draw.
Middx now have a lead of 8 with 8 second innings wickets in hand. If they play all day tomorrow they could have enough on the board to put Notts under pressure, having been bowled out for 98 first time round.
All the matches that finish tomorrow are likely to be weather-ruined draws

Cricket giving up the uneven struggle against the unrelenting damp. Three matches already abandoned play for the day. Others delayed.

Gloucestershire v Essex and Middlesex v Notts have been drawn. Northants v Glamorgan will have no play on Day 1 because of the rain.
