Edinburgh and Glasgow Rabbo fixtures
Thought I'd take a look at the Scottish pro teams fixtures and Rabbo prospects this season!
Edinburgh
Semi decent run up to Christmas:
Munster H
Cardiff A
Zebras H
Leinster A
Dragons A
Trevisio H
Scarlets H
Ulster A
Ospreys H
Connacht A
Realistically we should be aiming to win all the home games and try to get wins away to Cardiff (team in transition - hopefully catch them cold) , Dragons (although they are our bogey team) and Connacht with any other results a bonus. That should tee us up well for the 2nd half of the season where a run in of:
Zebras A
Connacht H
Trevisio A
Dragons H
Should give us a real chance of getting into the playoffs, if we're within touching distance by this point.
However, this is Edinburgh so no doubt none of that will go to plan! Opening game against Munster is massive IMO because it will be a really tough test and if we win it will be a great start to the season.
Glasgow
Probably a tougher start to the season with a tough game up first away to Ulster. Lead up to Christmas:
Ulster A
Scarlets H
Ospreys A
Connacht H
Zebras H
Blues A
Trevisio A
Dragons H
Leinster H
Munster A
However they definitely have a tougher run in at the end of the season and so really need to pick up plenty points before they face:
Leinster A
Minster H
Scarlets A
Ospreys H
Connacht A
Can Glasgow build on last years success in the league? Here's hoping so.
So all in all Edinburgh perhaps have a slightly better start to the season, and definitely have a better run in, but the league lasts all season so you need to fill in the bits in the middle too!
One team in the playoffs again has to be the target for the investment the SRU has made, with the other in the top 6.

Re: Edinburgh and Glasgow Rabbo fixtures
Worry for Edinburgh is we have some tough games around the International windows, we really need some of the new guys to step up to the mark.
At this stage I see Edinburghs 2 most important games as Munster first up and in the HC first game; I'm assuming Sarries at home if they roll out the same scheduling as last year. Both of those are massive and will define our season.

I don't think that edinburgh could have asked for an easier run in. While Glasgow while it will mean that they can beat teams around them heading into the last few weeks it is hard to keep up playing to the standard needed for each of those games

That's a great last collection of fixtures for Edinburgh. By then the new signing should have well and truly settled in, so if Edinburgh are in with a shout going into those games then they'll have a great chance.
Very much looking forward to hosting Munster in the first game of the season. Chance for the new Edinburgh side to make a big statement.
For Glasgow I think the first game is going to be a big one. Ulster are going to be one of the sides Glasgow need to beat if they are to replicate last season's success, so a win at Ravenhill early doors would be a huge statement.
