Tottenham v Fulham
Swansea v Everton
Aston Villa v Southampton
Chelsea v West Brom
Reading v Arsenal
Man United v West Ham
Newcastle v Stoke
Liverpool v Norwich
- Spoiler:
- Two teams set out to play nice football here today. Spurs managed to grab the upper hand early on through a 20 yard strike from wonderkid Eden Hazard. This was unfortunate for Fulham, who were in the game till this point. However they had to push for the equaliser which left them more exposed at the back, and Spurs took advantage on 50 mins when Bale slotted home with aplomb. Then Hazard scored on 57 mins and the floodgates looked to be opening. However credit to Fulham who fought resiliantly, and managed to grab a consolation goal, with Dimitar Berbatov scoring against his former club.
The Expert opinion (By Mark Lawrenson)
Spurs managed to grab the early goal which made the game a lot easier for them today. Fulham fought well, but the quality of the passing of this Spurs team was just too good. They look real contenders to me
How the votes were spread
7-1-0
Tottenham 3-1 Fulham
Hazard x 2, Bale - Berbatov
Swansea v Everton
- Spoiler:
- On a lovely day at the Liberty Stadium, league leaders Swansea took to the pitch against an Everton side who are looking to pick up points. And the Welsh side got off to the perfect start on 15 minutes when Joe Cole scored a side footed finish from just inside the area. However, this only seemed to spur Everton into life, and they took over the game, with Downing scoring on 43 minutes to send them in level at the half. The second half started and the home fans tried to lift the performance of there players, but to no avail as Jelavic scored a poacher's effort from 6 yards out on 71 minutes. And Swansea never managed to mount any real threat on the Everton goal, as the Merseysiders took the 3 points home.
The Experts Opinion (by Andy Townsend)
When Swansea took the lead early on I thought they were going to run riot. However this Everton side was set up very well, and they showed real fight today and managed to take the three points home. Swansea will now have to turn there attentions to next week's game, where they need to improve to gain points.
How the votes were spread
1-3-4
Swansea 1-2 Everton
J Cole - Downing, Jelavic
Aston Villa v Southampton
- Spoiler:
- We turn up here today at Villa Park with bottom team Southampton looking to improve on there performance last week. However the paying public were treated to a dire affair today, with neither side managing to create any real clear cut chances. Saints only managed one shot on target all game, but the way they set up made it look like they were happy with the draw, which was the only outcome on this day.
The Experts Opinion (by Lee Dixon)
This was a horrid game of football. Neither side was set up particularly attacking, and this was just a day where defences came out on top. Last on MOTD I reckon tonight.
How the votes were spread
3-2-2
Aston Villa 0-0 Southampton
Chelsea v West Brom
- Spoiler:
- Stamford Bridge was full for what turned out to be an easy win for Chelsea. They took the lead early on through a Juan Mata wonder strike. Mata was at his best today, as was shown when he played a delightful through ball for Higuain to score the first of his two goals on 39 minutes. West Brom never really got into the game, and the result was sealed when Higuain scored an easy header on 67 minutes. The game just went slowly to the finish, with Chelsea well in control. Just a step too far for West Brom on this day.
The Experts Opinion (by Gary Neville)
I think we all turned up here today expecting a Chelsea win and that's what we got. The gulf in class was on show, and although West Brom did there best to put up a fight, they just didn't have it today. Easy win for Chelsea, who look to have a real shot at the title.
How the votes were spread
7-1-0
Chelsea 3-0 West Brom
Higuain x2, Mata
Reading v Arsenal
- Spoiler:
- Reading's first home game back in the top flight proved to be a real cracker. Arsenal took the lead on 9 minutes through a nice left footed finish from RVP, and at this point it was not looking good for Reading. Arsenal continued to show there dominance when RVP made it two on 27 minutes with a header. At this point it looked bleak for Reading and they were lucky to go in only 2-0 behind at the break. However they looked a different side second half, and when Drogba scored on 65 minutes with a powerful finish, The Madjeski erupted with delight. Arsenal looked shaky for the final 25 minutes, with Reading pushing desperately for the equaliser, but Arsenal managed to hold out for a narrow 2-1 win.
The Experts Opinion (by Alan Shearer)
This was a game of two halves. Arsenal looked untouchable first half, and Reading didn't play too badly. However second half that Arsenal defence showed they can be rattled, and in all honesty despite winning, Reading probably deserved a point on the day.
How the votes were spread
0-1-6
Reading 1-2 Arsenal
Drogba - RVP x 2
Man United v West Ham
- Spoiler:
- Old Trafford was full to see West Ham return to where they so famously grabbed a win to clinch safety. However they didn't make the best start when new signing Andre Schurrle made the best possible start on 4 minutes with a 25 yard wonder strike into the top right hand corner. And when Javier Hernandez scored on 14 minutes, I think we all thought we could see a cricket score. However United let off the gas, and looked confused by there instructions. Luckily West Ham were poor on the day, and never really threatened but they managed to keep United down to 2 goals in the end.
The Experts Opinion (by Steve Claridge)
Man Utd looked comfortable winners however they should have won by more. They will need better instructions if they are to make a real push for the title, as they looked a little bereft of ideas at times. West Ham on the other hand look a poor side, and will need to improve if they are going to stay up
How the votes were spread
6-1-0
Man Utd 2-0 West Ham
Schurrle, Hernandez
Newcastle v Stoke
- Spoiler:
- St James's Park was packed for the visit of the new look Stoke side. Stoke looked to contain a Newcastle side who looked to control possession, so it came as somewhat of a surprise when Ashley Young scored with a nicely tucked away finish on 27 minutes. This seemed to stun Newcastle and Stoke nearly made it two but Young hit the post from a free kick. And after the half time break, Newcastle came out a rejuvenated side. Stoke put up a stern defence as they usually do and managed to hold out until the 87th minute, but Papiss Cisse managed to score a rather scrappy goal from a corner. In the end a draw was the fair result between two dark horses.
The Experts Opinion (by Gareth Southgate)
Today we saw two strong sides go against each other, and this game had draw written all over it. Stoke are impressing me this year, especially Ashley Young. But the same can be said for Newcastle who have made some very good signings. Both teams will be top half for sure, and Newcastle can seriously look at a Top 4 place.
How the votes were spread
1-6-1
Newcastle 1-1 Stoke
Cisse - Young
Liverpool v Norwich
- Spoiler:
- Norwich come to Anfield off the back of a home defeat. Liverpool look to improve there home form from last season. However Norwich set up with two up front today, which seemed to shock Liverpool. And it was in fact Norwich who took an early lead on 14 minutes through new signing Jordan Rhodes. Liverpool did however have the numbers in midfield, and Nani seemed to get them back on track on 36 minutes with a 20 yard finish into the bottom corner as the teams went in 1-1 at half time. However Liverpool came out and the crowd got on there back, and Suarez missed a hatful of chances. And Norwich took advantage on 69 minutes with a powerful header by Steve Morison. But Norwich stuck with two up front, which meant Liverpool piled on the pressure and finally Suarez managed to score on 84 minutes. But the game ended in a well deserved draw for Norwich.
The Experts Opinion (by Martin Keown)
I must admit I didn't expect Norwich to play two up front today, and neither did Liverpool. Liverpool could have won this game, and Luis Suarez up front by himself, sometimes he just misses too many chances. However if Liverpool would have won it would have been a shame to see Norwich go home empty handed because they deserved a point today.
How the votes were spread
4-2-3
Liverpool 2-2 Norwich
Suarez, Nani - Morison, Rhodes

I couldn't believe it Punting when these PM's were coming through and I was getting draws and wins lol. Seemed people thought Suarez up top by himself, he just isn't prolific enough. And by having two up top I surprised Trebs, and managed to nick goals

And Marky, who set out very well against me.
Delighted you got the point Olly, saved my bacon considering I consider Trebs my main rival this season
