WWE to purchase TNA. Empty WWE to purchase TNA.

Post by Guest Wed 13 Apr 2011, 10:01 pm

I just read this on the Wikipedia TNA page just now:

Vince Mcmahon has put in an offer for $15 million for the purchase of TNA as Dixie Carter has now left TNA. TNA is currently in the hands of the Carters and Panda Energy. Also interestingly Spike TV have shown great interest in buying the product and re-adjusting the whole set of TNA and potentially change it's name. However Spike TV will unlikely match or outbid the WWE/Vince Mcmahon and it has been mentioned in the backstage that Mr Mcmahon has already purchased TNA Wrestling as of April 11th 2011. Further to be updated on a daily basis.

Can I apologise if this subject has been raised before and I know that Wiki-pages are easily editable but just for arguments sake do you guys believe that a WWE buyout of TNA wrestling could happen anytime soon and would it be good or bad news for the industy?

Thanks.

If it where true the dirts would be all over it, quite a coincidence that someone edited the TNA wiki page just as you looked at it

Had I edited it I would have valued that business at a far smaller figure than 15 million dollars!

Do i think that WWE could buy out TNA,..... YES, and it wouldn't suprise
me that much, as Vince has form for doing this type of thing before
WCW,ECW etc.

Do i think that it would be good for wrestling..... NO, not in the slightest,
WWE will stay in the same boring repetative stats that it seems to
have been in since mid 00's, espically as there would be no comettition.

Would it be allowed though, Dosn't there have to be some competition
wasn't Microsoft done for something along these lines?

And does anyone now if ROH have got anew tv, internet contract to
show there shows yet.

A bit late for April Fools to be honest. Do you have a source other than wiki for this? If it were to happen though then it is very bad for wrestling. Competition is good and eliminating the competition means that the consumer (fans and viewers) lose out.

Vince bought WCW/ECW because they were going bust. He saved them then destroyed them to feed his ego and because their was no point in having 3 companies but should have kept ECW as an alternative to the PG TV WWE has become. This would be terrible news although I'm doubtful of this as I have searched the net and the only place I could find it was wikipedia. TNA TNA TNA

He didn't buy ECW or WCW to save them at all, he bought them so no-one else could buy and remarket them under the established banner that was WCW and to a lesser extent ECW also he was desperate for the sole rights to their complete video library, Vince had absolutely no desire to 'save' anything

There are major changes afoot in TNA (and you know they are really happening because Dixie and Hogan haven't been tweeting about them). However there is no talk of WWE buying TNA. Like others have said, the company definitely isn't worth $15 million!

Is $15m even that expensive? We're talking about a company with around 60 wrestlers, an extensive library and a primetime slot on a well publicised TV channel
