Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
For a 16 team league it looks ok. Bit unsure about your RBs, McFadden, Bradshaw and Felix Jones are your top 3 and all are fairly injury prone, plus Mendenhall looks out for a while yet. WR and TE are strong, I like Cutler at QB but others may not.

Only 1 QB?
As bambam said you have quite a lot of injury history at RB, plus Jones and Hardesty are backups unless others get hurt.
Do like your WR's and D/ST's.

Hardesty was a pick up based on Trent's knee as was Jones with D M murrayDerbyblue wrote:Only 1 QB?

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
I guess in a 16 team league, most of the adequate number 2 QBs go, if you miss the boat may as well just pick someone up off the waiver wire that week.
Can definitely imagine how quick players go in a league that big, I don't think I would be any good at it

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
Only 1 QB and 1 TE but 2 D/STs? Strange choice IMO, you can generally find decent D/STs on the waiver wire during your bye.
Your top two receivers are solid, but I'm not sure how well you'll do in the flex spot, don't think Manningham will have a particularly great year. I think it would have been worthwhile stashing Mendenhall on the bench instead of, say your second D/ST or Hardesty, but Benson is an absolutely solid pickup. Yeah, the Packers are the Aaron Rodgers Aerial Show, but many people forget that one of the main reasons they won the SB in 2010 was because James Starks really stepped up in the playoffs that year. The Packers offense has the same problem that the run n' shoot had at the Oilers - sure, they could put up points, but they couldn't control the clock or manage the game because they had no real rushing attack. It's what lead to The Comeback.
The Packers D sucked last year and based on last night, won't be much better this year. You can either force Aaron Rodgers to have to fire on all cylinders every single drive of every single game in order to keep the score rising up, because the D can't stop anybody... OR you can build up a nice lead, and then control the clock with your run game. Starks hasn't been great at all since that playoff run - Benson, for all his flaws as a human being, is a solid rusher. I expect Benson will actually have a pretty great year from a fantasy perspective, as I imagine he will be the focal point of the Packers O in the second half of games.

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
Yeah Benson is a good pickup, I'm kind of surprised that no one picked him in a league of 16

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
TE As I have J.Graham ,unless he gets injured I only need a 2nd TE for 1 week
Same with QB ,don't think Cutler is top notch but he will have to do there was very little left available by the middle rounds
Your probably right about GBP D
Benson only became available once he signed for Packers I just reacted quickest

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
Only 8 which is why it's a pretty solid team, I managed to win the league last year after auto picking and some amazing waiver pickups (McGahee, Gates, Nelson, Boldin, Branch, Ballard). Think I may accept week 7 as already being lost as I'll have Rivers, McGahee, Bush, White, Jones, Bowe, Celek and Kaeding all on a bye week.bambamwillis wrote:What league size is that Derby? Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
Just done a 10 team draft over on ESPN (I love their draft software, think it is by far the best even if their rankings are rubbish)
QB - Eli (again), Locker
RB - Ray Rice, DMC, Mathews, Hillis, Ryan Williams, Donald Brown, Mikel Leshoure
WR- Julio Jones, Jordy Nelson, Brandon Lloyd, Darius Heyward-Bey
TE- Fred Davis, Kyle Rudolph
DST - Packers
K - Crosby
Loaded up on RBs after I drafted the IR duo of DMC/Mathews, pretty happy with the team overall

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
The league also has a horrible rule of QBs losing a point for each incomplete pass, so may actually wait and pick up a back up just so they can't lose me any points during bye weeks.Derbyblue wrote:Figured we could all use the same thread, managed to forget I even had this draft on today and was busy watching college football, so I got autopicked this:

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
I recognise that team niner...... I'm never a big fan of 2 K's and 2 D's when it gets to bye weeks you can drop an underachiever to add the necessary cover, hope you manage to find a good QB on waivers though.
My team in that league:
QB: Brady, Schaub, Cassel
RB: Forte, Martin, Greene
WR: White, Brown, Lloyd, Bowe, Torrey Smith
TE: Rob Gronkowski, Gates
K: Matt Prater
D: Bears

Re: Rate my fantasy draft ?
Some good sides drafted so far. I agree with the ESPN comment bambam, great software, and rubbish rankings! Messed up the middle rounds of my draft as a result as some complete gems were hidden SO low. Still, picked up this in my 14-team league;
QB: Ryan, Wilson
RB: DMC, Martin, Brown, Williams, P. Thomas
WR: A.J. Green, Marshall, Crabtree, Little, Simpson,
TE: F. Davis, Gresham
K: Graham
DST: Lions
Stronger starters than the 606west team I have, but weaker bench IMHO.
