Injured World XV
Sleep really is the best option available to me but I was just thinking how many injured players there were at the moment around the world.
I really need some help with the tight five in particular but I think we could all make a decent Injured World XV.
So:
1. Oosthuizen/Woodcock 2. Bismark 3. Kepu
4. POC 5. Horwill/ Lawes
6. Ferris / Juan Smith 7. Brossouw/ Pocock 8. Burger / Palu
9. Youngs
10. Goosen
11. Richard Kahui
12. Jamie Roberts
13. Conrad Smith
14. J Pietersen
15. JOC
Sadly this is looking like one mean team. It's a great shame we are deprived of so many quality players.
Buenas noches.

Re: Injured World XV
Perhaps Jamie Roberts at 12 and Kahui at 13, and move JOC to the wing or fullback.
Conrad's injury isn't that serious he hasn't been out for all that long and he'll be back in a few games.

Courtney Lawes has had a really bad time with injuries. He could partner POC.

Re: Injured World XV
Yeah you look at Kaino (who can't play because he's off to Japan), J. Smith, Ferris, Croft, Burger and you probably have there the best 6s out of the game although Dusatoir obviously needs to be included and Higganbotham is no slouch.

Re: Injured World XV
It doesn't make for pretty viewing mate. More so for you no doubt but even from a neutral's perspective, you want to play against the best. Bismark is a huge loss. SA are lucky in that they have huge depth because rest assured if Australia had your injuries Qantas would be having a Who Wants to be a Wallaby competition to plug the gaps.
If you say so Welshy. I'm starting to think though this thread is too grim. I just wanted to check on injuries elsewhere than the big 4 and to show how much talent we're missing out on seeing. I don't want to make the world's best team praying a superstar gets injured!

Re: Injured World XV
Well the reality is even if we have depth how do you replace a third of your team with te type of players we either don't have as starters or back up?
There is little hope we'll even get close to winning the rugby championship

Re: Injured World XV
What we're really saying is, are the super team nations suffering more injuries because of the increased number of games in the domestic and national schedule?
Ofcourse if you lose your world class players to injury then you won't be able to replace them however great your depth. NZ & RSA have the larger player pools and so are better placed than Oz.
It will be interesting to see where we are come the completion of the 4 Nations.
It was I thought very sad for the Boks hooker to go down yesterday, its arguable he's the best out there at the moment.

Re: Injured World XV
Only 1 Aussie there Kia? You could add James Horwill, Cliffy Palu, Pat McCabe, and now Pocock. Your "Who Wants to be a Wallaby" competition might be Deans' next ace up the sleeve.

Re: Injured World XV
FC Cooper as well. Plenty of Aussies to pick from as well unfortunately. Woodcock is in doubt with a minor rib injury. It makes for grim reading for SA and Australia in particular.

Pulled a knee ligament and went down in training. He would've been relishing not facing Woodcock.

Puts it into perspective especially when viewed alongside all the retirements through injury this last 12 months. It's a brutal game but damn we all love it!

You could add Sam Warburton to that list as he is likely to be injured as soon as we need him, unfortunately.
