What Next for Bobby Roode?
He asked that question himself, during last Sunday's Impact show, following his "controversial" defeat by Austin Aries at Hardcore Justice and for once I found myself actually giving thought to something a wrestler said.
The stipulation for that match was that, should Roode lose, he would not get another title shot, as long as Aries held the belt. Given that A Double looks set for a decent stint as heavyweight champion, it does make me wonder what the future holds for the "It Factor".
Given that he's been in the limelight for quite some time, is he due a break and will he inexplicably disappear, to recharge his batteries, while the writers figure out how to bring him back?
Will he perform a miraculous face turn and reform Beer Money with James Storm, now that its been shown The Cowboy isn't behind Aces & Eights?
Given that they made him TNA's longest-reigning champion, you have to figure they will have something in the pipeline for him. I'm just curious as to what it could be.

Re: What Next for Bobby Roode?
probably take a month or two or three off then return thinner and become x division champion then forfeit the title on that certain date (forgot what date) to get a world title match at the next ppv then become world champion again

He needs a break. He's been TNA'S top heel for the past year and he prob wants to spend some time with his family etc....
When he comes back, I expect him to attack AA and prob goad him into another title match.

Could they have him being behind the Aces & Eights ?
Aces and Eights interfere in the Bound for Glory title match costing Aries the title , Roode is then revealed as the leader and now Aries isn't the champion he can have another title shot .

Re: What Next for Bobby Roode?
probably but as mentioned in the V2 journal podcast im expecting Aces and Eights to be Hogan and Aries.
Ace Ace or 11 = AA= Austin Aries
88= HH= Hulk Hogan
Then could be possible face turn for Roode to go against them.
Would be bit rubbish though to turn Aries Heel

Re: What Next for Bobby Roode?
He clearly shouldn't have lost the title in the first place, I understand Aries was on a roll but I think TNA felt pressured by his popularity and put the belt on him. His reign has been overshadowed by Aces and 8s anyway, he's talented don't get me wrong but he's the right guy at maybe the wrong time.

I dont think they can as they attacked him. He can wrestle people in his own league with the likes of Robbie E, Robbie T, Devon, Kenny king, garett bischoff

If it does turn out that Aries is a part of Aces & Eights then surely he'll have to go up against James Storm? There doesn't seem to be any point having people accusing 'The Cowboy' left, right and centre of being behind the group and then chucking him to the wayside when it's revealed that he isn't the Higher Power behind Aces & Eights?

On last nights podcast I figured out who is in cahoots with Hogan.
I am sure I am correct.

That WOULD be funny! Incidentally, I'm looking forward to seeing how AJ's paternity test pans out.

I disagree. I think the time was about right for Roode to lose the belt. He'd already become the longest-reigning champion in the company's history and the amount of heat he was getting probably peaked around the time he roughed up Dixie Carter and gaffer-taped an unconscious Sting to the ropes.
His heel antics and underhanded victories were getting a little old and the time was right for a change.
Its not just Aries' reign thats being overshadowed at the moment. Aces & Eights are THE main story at the moment. That said, things are always more interesting when the bad guys are holding the belts, so I don't see A Double's run being anywhere near as long as Roode's.

Funny thing is, Austin Aries has always been a heel character (at least since he's been the X Division champ). The difference is he was always understated and never resorted to OTT antics like Roode or Bully Ray. He backed up his arrogance with great performances in the ring, which is why so many fans like him. I don't think I've ever seen him win dirty.
He's walked a fine line between heel and face and I think it suits him quite well.

I had a think about this last night - Hulk Hogan was attacked by Aces and Eights - why would it be him???
Thats absurd

Re: What Next for Bobby Roode?
He was "attacked" but unlike the other people attacked, you didnt see it. You only saw the aftermath.
Listen to our pdocasts and it will make sense, as well as who is in cahoots with Hogan - I figured it out live on air!

Re: What Next for Bobby Roode?
Possible slight spoiler but apparently hogan was billed as Hollywood Hogan on Thursdays impact. Considering that usually his heel name, is that a possible indicator for him being behind the group.
In all honesty I expect Jarrett to be behind aces and eights in some form still.
