Gold Rush Empty Gold Rush

Post by Guest Wed 22 Aug 2012, 2:04 pm

Does anyone watch Gold Rush on Discovery? I've watched both series over the last year or two and think it's awesome. It's got some great characters too and glad it's been granted a third season. Let's get some Gold Todd!

I only saw one episode and it just ended with everyone who was looking for gold not finding any. And one man had plowed his life savings into looking for some and the last scene was him driving off in his pick up truck into the wilderness after finding none and going bust. Laugh

They're all such idiots, it is brilliant.

Seriously you should watch both series, it's like the most watched programme on Discovery, absolutely quality. It's hilarious watching them attempt to gold mine, making mistakes constantly and not having the correct machines to mine. Once you get to know the team and the Hoffman's then you will enjoy the show. Watching them go through the experience is great and it's never dull as their either finding gold, having machine issues, arguing, fighting or getting injured.........

Third season should start next year sometime.

I have watched it all , and agree its a good show but Fred does my head in with that laugh Rolling Eyes

The guy who was kicked off in season one has come out and said its all scripted but that has been denied by Discovery .

I love shows like this , have you watched the new one Gold Divers ? love Swamp People aswell .

Dakota Fred is a character though, he's back on Jack's gloryhole and should be full of gold in series 3. Yer, I never liked that guy who left, clearly jealous of the success of the show.....sour grapes. Basically Todd Hoffman does nothing, if it wasn't for Dave Turin then they would have absolutely no success. I love how Todd said, 'next year we will get over $1m dollars in gold or something along those lines'......delusional. Great show. I saw the first episode of Gold Divers but haven't really got into it, think there just trying to grab some success off the back of Gold Rush.

Yes it made me laugh when Todd said they would get 1000 grams of gold next season Laugh . next weeks behind the scenes sounds interesting aswell

I have watched a couple of episodes of Gold Divers and it isn't as good but it is getting better and some of the characters are mental .

Yeah Steve was a knob mate, has the first season been on here, steve gets into a fight with verne the owner and gives him a few rapid punches in a special episode like after the catch(deadliest Catch) police get called. It looks like he glasses him but he threw his glass of coke right in his face, its violent but brilliant. I'm addicted to these shows.

Jungle Gold only gets more dodgy mate, takes balls to try mine over there. Great show.

I have seen the Gold Divers 1st series but not the aftershow one , sounds like it would of been the best one of the lot .

Yeah it looked like he glassed him square in the face, he then pinned him against the wall and gave him three rapid, they were big shots too. Verne accused him of stealing equipment or sabotaging the season somehow, i can't quite remember, Steve just lost it, he was sober too, was basically the same show as After the Catch.

I seen that one mate with them hunting the Monster although i thought it was in two parts, i only seen the one anyway it was good, Jonathon lives life to the extreme when he's not crabbing, a lot of them do. Deadliest Catch is definately my favourite too been watching it since it was just a one off show called the deadliest job in the world, great stuff, was really shocked when everything started with Phil Harris.

Yeah Jake's constantly drugged up, you notice straight away when he's not as he looks totally different, other guys will find it hard to tell due to the conditions and how tired they are. Phil smoked far to much and was stressed all the time, was horrible seeing him in hospital with his skull looking like a jigsaw.

Forget Gold Diggers or Gold Ice Diggers or whatever rubbish Discovery tried to throw at us as a replacement.......GOLD RUSH IS BACK!

Just watched the intro to the new series, really spicing up and big changes have been made. Can't wait for this season now, interesting to see how the split operation between Dave & Todd unfolds. I reckon Dakota Fred might hit the jackpot up at Porcupine.

Yeah mate, constantly twitching and touching his nose, sniffing, eyes likes saucers. Every time the presenter was talking about the team sitting in the backround he would stand up and pump his fists giving it a ''Hell Yeah, love you guys'' Giving his laid back, slow way of speaking i noticed it staight away. Was definately on some kind of upper.

If you search it it has some guys on forums talking about it the day after, I read a bit that said all footage had been taken down which we've obviously experienced.

Not sure if people been watching or have watched entire series online. I'm upto date in the UK currently, how on earth does Todd Hoffman continue on this show. The geezer is an absolute joke, embarrassment. Everything he does at Quartz is wrong, how Dave Turin continues to work under him is beyond me, seeing as he's got Indian River running like clockwork. Parker continues to struggle, not sure the game is for him long term. Also, found it incredibly fake how Fred's machines break down and then suddenly he gets all that new equipment out of the blue after saying that he could not afford anything new. I think Discovery paid for it all in my opinion. Interesting to see what happens next.

I think Parker's just out of ground to mine

The more I watch this show, the more it looks so staged. Getting embarrassing some of the action scenes with Todd running and then you see him ease up before it cuts. Todd's such an idiot, doing nothing right n looks a fool....he'd never get investment from those backers if they saw this. He'd risk breaking the main washplant during the night while Dave's away......yeah sure. Dave Turin would of left months ago in a real life situation.

Basically there all millionaires anyway, remember Todd selling his airport for funds way back. Ridiculous

Yeah. Disappointing but that's the danger of a series going on and having a bigger audience to please. Discovery know it would become boring over time or repetitive, so they are intervening, however it`s so staged now its embarrassing. Shame. I actually enjoy watching Fred n Dustin the most in that little glory hole, seems real n not staged. Although, when there machines broke and he had no money or loan left, Discovery clearly paid for all new machines.
