Middlesex Panthers v Somerset
Finn strikes early to take the big wicket of Gayle, but Trescothick survives. Pathan is a little wayward, feeding Tres's scoring areas and also allowing Trott to get off to a good start. As the innings goes on Trescothick enjoys himself, eventually falling for 64 in to Vettori in the 14th over. But Trott slows down, and with Kieswetter, Buttler (despite a few nice shots) and Van der Merwe failing to capitalise on Tres's start the final total of 163-5 feels under par. Trott is run out off the last ball of the innings for 49. Finn claims three wickets.
Watson blazes from the start, hogging the strike for the first couple of overs and taking advantage. But Tait cleans him up in over 4, leaving the all Kiwi pair of Guptill and McCullum at the crease. McCullum gets going on this occasion, but Guptill never does and is trapped lbw by Dockrell's spin. Malan falls quickly, but Morgan comes to the crease and enjoys himself, particularly against Gregory. Just 15 are needed from the last two overs with the 19th crucial. Dockrell goes for just 3 from the first 5 balls, but McCullum spanks the 6th for six to make the task much easier. With two balls to spare Morgan seals the win with another six.
Middlesex Panthers win by 7 wickets
Man of the Match: Brendan McCullum
Nottinghamshire Outlaws v Hampshire Royals
Bowling Patel to Smith early on is a masterstroke, and the early breakthrough is secured. Malinga is too good for Adams, leaving Hants two down after just two overs. Broad bounces out Akmal, leaving Clarke and Bopara to rebuild. They do to a point, but the scoring rate is slow and Swann removes his England teammate, before James Vince is stumped first ball. Notts's bowlers are just too good for Mascarenhas, Bravo and Zaheer with Broad now coming into things. Clarke is bowled by a searing Malinga yorker after a heroic 58, but its been a disaster for Hants who make only 100 exactly.
Zaheer gets Warner, but the small total to chase makes life easy for Notts. Hales and Lumb get close, and despite a couple of late wickets, the result is never in doubt.

Trescothick and Gayle get Somerset off to a flyer with the extra pace of Steven Finn being unlucky with the ball flying of the edge of the bat to the boundary a few times. Shane Watson gets Tres nicking off to the keeper, but Gayle keeps going till over 8 when Vettori has him caught in the deep of his second ball. Trott digs in, but goes slowly and it puts pressure on Kiews and Buttler who get out trying to increase the rate. VDM scores a cameo 20, but Somerset only get to 178.
Tait's pace goes the same way as Finns as it flies to the boundary, of the edge more often than not, whilst Thomas bowls economically but can't grab a wicket. Dockrell gets the breakthrough in over 8, removing Guptill, but McCullum comes in and throw the bat and gets away with it as he hits a quickfire 40 before falling to VDM but he has done enough and Watson (85*) and Malan can just ease Middlesex across the line.
Middlesex win.

Middlesex win, high-scoring affair which Morgan wins with a fantastic finishers knock.
Notts win, Swann and Patel are key in containg Hants to a below par score in the first innings, allowing Notts to bat without risk in their innings, with De Villiers hitting the winning runs.
