Rees over Best?
IMO, Matthew Rees is second choice for Wales, and about 4/5th choice for the Lions.

8 months ago probably, but he had a disappointing 6 Nations, and its hard to overlook Rory Best for the Lions.

A lot of Scotland had a disappointing 6N :-( he is a great player no doubt and still the best of the home nations by a long way - the work he gets thru 13 tackles in the win over Aus for example or against France in the 6N - 12 tackles , 46 m, two clean breaks.

A. Hore is certainly the best name for a hooker.
For all the rest there's mastercard.

Yep, it is about as appropriate as Bismarck is for a Warship.kiakahaaotearoa wrote:A. Hore is certainly the best name for a hooker.

Re: Top 3 Hookers in world rugby
I picked Bismarck, Mealamu and Servat. Bismarck is the best around and unfortunatley is injured for awhile.
He is exceptional in his hooking duties and shines even more so around the park, always coming out on top physically(bar the Etzebeth "tackle")
Mealamu is very consistant and rarely makes mistakes, very mobile too. Servat is also a very good player, hugley physical and performs the role of a hooker very well.

Servat has retired yes and Andrew Hore must have avoided playing hooker all through his school days.

Went for du Plessis, Mealamu and Polota Nau.
It's really a toss of the coin between Polotau Nau and Moore for me they're both as good as each other, they just have completely different styles. TPN is great in the loose as a ball carrier and destructive tackler while Moore is better in the more traditional tight aspects in the scrums and throwing in the lineout.

Top 3 hookers? This question should have been posed earlier when Mike Tindall and Danny Care were still in the England team.
I agree with drsambo's choices: Bismarck, Mealamu, Servat. Shame to see Bismarck out for so long and sadly those kinds of injuries don't seem to see the same player come back.

Did Marius Tincu retire at the end of last season? He would have been on that list...

Agreed and from the results so far the majority concern.
I also think the results have got the 1,2,3 in the right order as well
