Graham Onions took 5 wickets today for Durham with perfomances like this can Onions get back into frame for the England team or has he been away for too long to be considered.I personally hope he's given another chance as he's an excellent bowler but with Finn,Broad,Anderson and Bresnan the seam options it could be a while before we see Onions back in the England squad

Onions is a fine bowler. Streets ahead of Finn and Bresnan.

Current attack of Anderson, Broad and Tremlett so Onions would be pressing Tremlett for selection

Onions is ahead of Finn cos finn is about 5 yrs younger, i think Finn will be a real star to watch out for.

Finn has to learn how to contain runs

yh i no but like i said he is young and that will come with experience, at the moment he is a strike bowler, for example in the ashes he took like 14 wickets in 3 tests

Finn definitely has to learn to stop too many runs flowing, but is a god strike bowler. However him and onions are such different bowlers because onions is very skiddy when he hits the deck and obviously finn has so much more bounce.

Absolutely if he can stay fit. He's a brilliant bowler in my opinion and proved that he was an international standard bowler!

First class
58 matches 209 wickets at 28.21 econ 3.56 s/r 47.5 - Finn
78 matches 261 wickets at 29.84 econ 3.59 s/r 49.8 - Onions

Tests
12 Tests 50 wickets at 26.92 econ 3.89 s/r 41.4 - Finn
8 Tests 28 wickets at 31.03 econ 3.64 s/r 51.0 - Onions

There is not much difference in economy rates. As a Test bowler you would want an economy of under 3.00.

Interesting stats. I would have assumed that onions would be much more economical than Finn. Maybe more of more importance is the difference in strikerate, which I think should put finn above oinions in the pecking order.
