Re: Scotland's new kit...
Why does Ross Ford think Scotland can beat the ABs or why are they wearing that horrendous strip?

I've stepped into Bizarro World. Up is down, Bieber has talent, and Salmond is King.
There is no other explanation.

Bravo my Celtic brothers. I may have to purchase one of these. I just hope I don't stain it with some pizza crunch or Irn Bru!

I doubt he really does. I can't think of a single bold statement to come out of the Scotland camp in the past five years or so that has actually come to pass. Scots are naturally dour people and I think the fans and team would respond better to a more realistic statement, e.g. 'Scotland have never beaten the All Blacks and this is potentially as poor a Scotland team as there has been since the 1950s so there's really no reason why the 3-49 result of two years ago won't be repeated'.

All sportsmen go into every contest aiming to win, and believing they can, no matter how unlikely it seems to everyone else. Obviously a journalist has just asked him if he believes they can win, and there was only one answer he was ever going to give. It doesn't mean Scotland think they are favourites, just that they are going into the game with the right attitude. And of course there is always a chance of a win, no matter how slim, maybe once in every hundred games there's a big shock and that's what they'll be aiming for.
As for bold statements coming to pass, I'm pretty sure they would have made this kind of statement before we last played Australia. And the time before that. And the last time we played South Africa. All of which we won. Obviously NZ are a tougher prospect, not least because they don't struggle in poor conditions like the others, and we'll need everything to go our way to be in with a chance. If Robinson gets his selection and tactics spot on, every single player plays the game of his life, the bounce of the ball and refereeing decisions go our way, and New Zealand have a very rare off day, then we'll probably still only have a 1% chance of winning. But as long as that tiny chance is there they'll be going for it and I'd demand nothing less.
Oh and there's no way this is the worst Scotland side since the 1950's - where were you during the 2000's!
(possibly the worst scotland top since the 1950's though)

I like that kit actually! Congrats Canterbury. I think contrary to what was thought, they're actually bringing out some nice kits this season!

absolutely agree(apart from the strip, I quite like it)
This is far from the worst Scotland team since the 1950s, in fact i would say the opposite in that it is one of the most promising teams in recent years with the amount of young good quality players that are emerging.
If the players front up and get in NZ's face and play for the whole 80 then we do have a chance. NZ are not unbeatable.
