Steve Hansens father passes away

Condolensces go to current All Blacks coach Steve Hansen whose father has been seriously ill this week, passed away this morning:

No doubt Steve learned a thing or two about coaching from his old man. My sympathies to Steve and his family. I'm only glad this didn't happen in November when Steve was on the other side of the world. At least he was together with his family, albeit in these difficult times. kia kaha

I heard he had been away from the ABs as father was sick.

As someone that suffered a bereavement a couple of weeks ago I'll send my condolences too. Hope he takes all the time he needs and doesn't rush back. His family is more important than any streak. The team's got this.

It's nice that his Dad got to see him perform heroics as an assistant and then coach of the ABs before his time was up. What more could a son or father want from their time.
