French training squad named
Seen the french have named their squad for the autumn tests.
Hookers: Szarzewski, Tolofua and Kayser
Props: Mas, Attoub, Ben Arous, Domingo, Debaty, Forestier
Locks: Papé, Maestri, Vahaamahina, Suta
Backrowers: Dusautoir, Lauret, Ouedraogo, Chouly, Picamoles, Gunther
Halves: Machenaud, Parra, Michalak, Plisson, Trinh-Duc
Centres: Fofana, Fritz, Mermoz, Fickou
Outside backs: Clerc, Huget, Fall, Dulin, Martin.
Don't think PSA has had the best start to his tenure at France. Wasn't overly impressed with them through the 6 nations and summer games bar a few outstanding individual performances (Fofanna!!) and theres a few question marks over this squad for me.
Not sure why 6 props have been named and 4 of them are looseheads? Based on the Top 14 this year theres better around then the likes of Ben Arous, Vahaamahina, Suta, Lauret and Martin. Most aren't regulars at club level yet. I'd say Nyanga is wondering what he will have to do to get back in that squad! Lauret is a poor player for me at international level and hasn't been playing overly well at club level

Re: French training squad named
The battle between Fofana and Fickou for the #12 shirt will be immense.
Re: French training squad named
They are well stocked at 12 for the next few years aren't they!
Fickou looks like a more complete player but needs a bit more time to fully develop. Fofanna could always end up on the wing as he started out there
Reckon Fickou will play the last autumn game with Fritz at 13 against Samoa and possibly make an apperance from the bench v the Argies

Re: French training squad named
good morning folks, been away for some holidays so with some delays here's France 23 men squad for Australia on saturday :
Hookers: Szarzewski and Kayser (exit guirado who was replacing a suspended Tolofua)
Props: Mas, Domingo, Debaty, Forestier (exit Attoub and ben arous so only one specialist TH)
Locks: Papé, Maestri, Suta (exit theyoung and priomising Sébastien Vahaamahina) Backrowers: Ouedraogo, Chouly, Picamoles and Nyanga (Dusautoir injured so replaced by Nyanga , Gunther and Lapandry unlucky to miss out)
Halves: Machenaud, Parra, Michalak Trinh-Duc ( no surprise, off goes Plisson, Parra is slighly inured so might not start which would mean Michalak would as he is the only kicker left)
Centres: Fofana, Fritz, Mermoz (Fickou has been judged too inexperienced I guess but I hope he wil get a chance against Samoa)
Outside backs: Clerc, Huget, Dulin (fall out...only one specialist fullback with Dulin and not with little experience)
as usual here, nobody is fully happy or unhappy. I personally have concerns with the outside backs (Huget has never been great at this level and would have prefered to see someone like Buttin who can cover better wing and fullback). Backrow is likely to be very mobile if both nyanga and ouedraogo starts with not enough grunt for my liking.
