Old Firm game on Easter Sunday
The SPL have for a loooooong time tried to avoid playing OF games on public holidays, however this is the first game after the split and possibly the only time it could be to svoid being a "league decider". Upon reading papers today and learning thatg Celtic fans intend to sing Hymns only at the game, do you feel this could cause more trouble than could be expected or will it be a damp squib and not even happen.
Easter is a deeply religious time and I personally think the fact that the game is being played on this day, and the goings on of this week, there will be trouble.

I feel sorry for the referee in this match, he is going to be slated either way. I can honestly see this turning out worse than their last skirmish.

Think their will be a lot of trouble from the fans but away from the ground. It sould be an intense game. Excpecting plenty of fireworks.

I can't imagine WHAT the SFA were thinking about, scheduling this match on Easter Sunday.
I'm English so have no direct opinion on the Old Firm game but I have very good friends on both sides of the Glasgow divide.
It just seems like madness to me that such a big game is scheduled at such a time

Could be askin for bother, especially with the off field carry on this week and the match is basically a league decider

I just have a feeling it will be pretty dull but hope not as it's good entertainment. Then again if they didn't have it this weekend could you imagine the carnage if it was an actual title decider

Game is on Sky I believe.
The thing with the game kicking off at 12 is, the fans are back in pub for 2ish, then when they leave at whatever time, the SFA/SPL are trying to make us believe that any bother caused in the Glasgow area at 8 (or whatever time) has nothing to do with the game.
It's all good and well the fans sober at the game, it 3, 4 and 5 hours after were the real trouble starts.

Poor scheduling for this match. With the Old Firm you never know how crazy the games will be, usually when the media hypes it up as going to be absolute carnage it's fairly low key.
As hibbywul says though the real trouble starts the minute the fans get outside the stadium.

Exactly, there will be no real trouble at the game, it'll be in the pubs around tea time the sh!t will hit the fan.

Re: Old Firm game on Easter Sunday
I'm meant to be getting Sky HD tomorrow...in time for the game.
My viewing card hasn't arrived yet though
Disappointing. I'll be surprised if it happens anyway with it being easter weekend.

Re: Old Firm game on Easter Sunday
It'll be a dull 0-0 draw, no-one will be booked or sent off, there will be zero flash points in the game, the two sets of coaching staff will speak highly of one another and the match officials and the only talking point will be the Rangers & Celtic fans linking arms together for a rendition of 'I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing'.
