LV= Cup: Worcester v Scarlets (Sat)
LV= Cup: Worcester v Scarlets
Venue: SixwaysDate: Saturday, 10 NovemberKick-off: 15:00 GMT
Coverage: Live score updates on BBC Sport website and BBC Radio Wales
The Scarlets hand new South African tight-head Jacobie Adriaanse his debut in the Scarlets opening LV= Cup clash with Worcester Warriors at Sixways.
TEAMS
Scarlets: A Fenby; K Phillips, G Maule (capt), A Warren, L Williams; A Thomas, A Davies; S Hopkins, K Myhill, J Adriaanse, J Ball, J Snyman, C Price, D Thomas, K Murphy.
Replacements: R Wilkes, G Thomas, P Edwards, G Earle, J Edwards, R Williams, O Williams, N Reynolds.
Worcester: Chris Pennell; Nikki Walker, Alex Grove, Jon Clarke, Andy Short; Joe Carlisle, Jonny Arr; George Porter, Ed Shervington, James Currie, Dean Schofield (capt), Chris Jones, Richard de Carpentier, Jake Abbott, Blair Cowan.
Replacements: Ollie Hayes, Ceri Jones, Rob O'Donnell, James Percival, Neil Best, Ollie Frost, Andy Goode, Ben Howard.
Wing Andy Fenby moves to full-back to allow Lee Williams to come in on the flank with Gareth Maule named as captain.
With 15 Scarlets on international duty fringe players like Dan Thomas and Adam Warren get a chance to shine.
The Warriors include former Ospreys duo Nikki Walker and Ed Shervington.
"The LV= Cup competition is an important platform and test for our wider squad players and will help bring on a number of our developing players as we saw last season," said Fenby.
"There's some real opposition for us with games against Worcester, the [Cardiff] Blues, Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks.
"My first Scarlets games were in the LV= Cup. It's a great tournament and the boys enjoy the English/Welsh rivalry and with places in Europe dependent on outcomes it means it's always very competitive.
"It is an opportunity for younger players to make their mark on the first team."
Seems a good team, really glad that Warren and D Thomas are being given a shot, and is a good chance to let Adriaanse, Snyman and Ball settle into the squad more - quite a strong bench (except for front row) with Earle, Edwards and Rhodri Williams ready to come on. Though am very surprised that Rhodri hasn't been given a chance, especially as Davies has played a few times this season.
I hope Kirstin Phillips can improve as well with more exposure to 1st team rugby...

Don't know much about the Worcester side, but it should be a good game then with two strong(ish) sides picked. Forgot Walker was with Worcester as well...

Can't comment much on Worcester's team as I don't know much about them. Not a bad Scarlets side out though under the circumstances.
Should be a good game.

About a month ago. Not sure why given our backrow issues.
