Frochs Comments about Hatton
First topic message reminder :
I read these comments Froch made and it sounds to me like he is being very disrespectful of Hatton who is making his comeback soon:
"I have not won every single fight every time I have stepped through the ropes but I don't get outclassed. I lose close points decisions but I can put it right against Kessler and Ward - I know I can."
Froch defended his IBF super middleweight by flooring his opponent in the first round before leaving Mack on the canvas again in the third.
He added: "I don't get spectacularly knocked out like some other British fighters who think they are superstars.
"I am in my prime and I am ready for anybody. I have proved that with the people I have fought.
His comments about being knocked out must be a dig at Hatton who he is probably jealous of and what planet is he living on when he said he does not get outclassed?? He has lost twice already! Someone needs to remind Froch how overrated he is thanks to Sky and that he is not in the same league as fighters like Hatton and Calzaghe who he is obsessed with. Hatton was a class act and was only beaten by the two best fighters in the world not by the kind of fighters Froch has lost to. Somebody tell this guy to get a grip!

Haye is actually coming across as quite likeable on I'm A Celebrity (according to the missus).
You know you have been watching it too Michaels. He is actually alright on there which I thought would be the case having read many a time he is a decent bloke outside of boxing. Loving that Pussycat Doll, she is a fit bit of kit.

Aye, wouldn't mind checking its oil levels.

Ward yes, but I believe Bute was rated higher than Kessler for the last couple of years - certainly when Froch fought each if them? It could be said of the top two guys he's fought he's 1-1. I do think Kessler is an excellent fighter, but when I look at his record I wonder where the quality is; Froch himself is kesslers biggest win, could it be argued that Kessler gets looked upon generously because of his style and good performance in the first half if the JC fight? Just a thought.
At the time Froch fough the respective opponents I would say you are correct that Bute was probably ranked higher. Second only to Ward probably by a common sense approach. But unless Bute goes on to really do well then I think Kessler will almost certainly be viewed as the better SMW overall with the benefit of hindsight.
Both have a fairly solid reign over the B list fighters but Kessler has an A list win over Froch and gave Calzaghe a competitve fight before ultimately losing. Bute was blown away by Froch when he stepped up to really test himself. I would rate Kessler a fair bit above Bute overall unless Bute can go on to show and do a bit more.

Re: Frochs Comments about Hatton
Hard to factor in, but I think the "Lacy" factor may apply here, that being the fact that Froch gave Bute such a leathering that he will never get back to his former self, or go on to perform as he may have done had he not had the heck mullered out of him by Froch. As with Calzaghe/Lacy, the brilliance of Carl's performance in demolishing Bute may ultimately lead to Bute being marked down in people's opinions and thereby the win not carrying as much weight on Froch's ledger as it deserves.

Re: Frochs Comments about Hatton
I think I would rate Frochs win over Bute as better than Calzaghe over Lacy at the moment. Bute had a bit more of an extensive title reign beforehand and looks to me to be the better boxer. I dont think the beating Lacy recieved to Calzaghe did him any favours but I do think he was exposed a bit as fairly one dimensional and reliant on his power. The fact he went on on to be so mediocre after Calzaghe marks him down alot for me. But Id rate Kessler as better than both Lacy and Bute which is why I still think Froch has the unfortunate distinction of losing to the two best SMWs he faced.

Union, that is far too balanced an appraisal for inclusion on these boards. You should look a "moderating" yourself.
