Joe Ansbro - Great news.
London Irish Statement on Joe:

London Irish is delighted to announce that Joe Ansbro has today returned to London Irish to continue his rehabilitation following the neck injury he sustained whilst playing for London Irish against Munster in a pre-season fixture back in August.
Joe suffered a triple fracture of his C1 vertebra early in the game’s second half. After an MRI scan, it was confirmed that surgery was not required, and the injury would be managed by external fixation. After spending the last few months at the family home in Scotland wearing the external fixation device, it was removed last week and he is now able to return to London to continue his recovery.
The Scotland international said: “I would like to thank everyone, especially my family and friends, for their support. I have been inundated with messages from not only London Irish and Scotland supporters, but the wider rugby community too. Your support has really got me through this tough time in my life and I am very grateful for that. I am glad to be back at London Irish and looking forward to catching up with my teammates.”

Exellent news. All the best to him for his recovery over the coming months.
Would be great to see him back. Good player and seems like a top bloke too.

Damn right Scotland have missed him! Great to hear he's on the mend, can't wait to see him back fully fit and firing in a Scotland strip. A far superior 13 than NDL, for sure.

Great news!! Ansbro is a great player and seems a very nice person too. So glad this injury has not been as bad as it could have been.

Still, three months in a halo immobilizing device does not make one ready for Rugby. The rehab starts now. I would give him another two-three months. For one thing, the neck muscles atrophy quickly.

A bit late coming to this, but truly fantastic news. Hopefully the rehab goes well and we see him back on a rugby field soon where he belongs.

Must be wonderful to get that cage off and be able to sleep properly at night. Agree with the Doc though - we'll only be able to assess how far away he is from playing again in a couple of weeks.
Let's not discount the psychological side too - neck injuries are serious and you only need to look at Thom Evans to know that a lot of players just don't fancy mixing it up again when they could have been paralysed.
One thing's for sure - there's nobody else whose form has suggested they're good enough to take the Scotland 13 shirt from him. Well, apart from one young man who's back playing against Leinster this weekend.

Asbo - I am trying to tone down the hype on him before FES gets a piece of lead piping and comes to find us.
But to all other posters, Scotland's Brian O'Driscoll has just returned back to Glasgow from Clermont. You heard it here first. If he doesn't keep tripping over his own umbilical cord in training, he should be starting in the Robocop soon.
