Re: North Out
I think this is more of a kick in the balls for the Scarlets than it is for Wales, as Liam Williams (North's replacement) is a very good attacking option. And will also provided decent cover at fullback, should Halfpenn want to go on a run.

Re: North Out
Shame for North but it may stop the backs just shipping the ball down the line.

Shipping the ball (like England) along diagonal lines leads most likely to the touchline.
The most obvious route to success is via perpendicular grids.
Shane used to do it all the time. Sometimes directly vertical but very often horizontal until he found a vertical path.

cant say I agree with you to be honest. North has achieved much more that Williams did at his age. He has his whole career ahead of him. Dont think North, Cuthbert nor Halfpenny are over rated either. All very good players.

Re: North Out
Surely it was the opportunity to try Halfpenny back on the wing. Ah well. I think Scarlets are pretty much covered with their wingers all showing good attacking form.

A big loss for Wales. It will be interesting to see if the guy who has been brought in to replace him, steps up to the plate

Re: North Out
Wathog why don't you go back to the Ireland tax break thread and be defensive.
Anyone know if Liam Williams is playing FB?

He's apparently on the wing.

I guess there is less of a shuffle around if one player drops out and another fills his spot and not another.
williams has plenty of experience on the Wing, he'll do well.

Re: North Out
At least he's a very different option to North. He seems to like the physical stuff in the games I've seen, but he seems to have an eye for a gap

Re: North Out
Aye, he is a canny player. Great angles, good pace and not scared of anything in defence or attack... Really gives his all.

Re: North Out
Liam Williams is an excellant replacement and I think he will take his chance.
He reminds me of JPR, in looks but mostly by the way he plays.
Think it is worth putting a £5 bet on him scoring a try tomorrow.

Liam Williams could give us that spark we've been missing the last couple of games. I'm excited to see how he goes tomorrow.

That said the 'spark' would probably lead to him being sent against Samoa for fighting!
