Well done Italy...
19 - 22 in Roma.
Great effort, so close to a magnificent win. Italy are looking a much stronger team this year. The Italians say the form of Treviso is very much part of it. Though I am about 20 kilometres from Treviso so the locals may be biased.

Wonder what the Aus press think of this.

Calm down they still lost. Italy 19-22 Aus.
Had a kick to draw in the last minute but missed.

I saw the Second half against New Zealand and the last ten minutes of this match and Italy looked pretty good in both. Its going to be very interesting for the 6 nations.

Italy were close to getting a penalty try from an Aussie scrum offence - they dominated the aussie pack - but at one point were 16pts down and struggled to make it all up. A little more composure and they would have won.

It was in Florence actually.
Very poor performance from the Wallabies. Had a feeling it might be close after the win last week.
Well done Italy. Totally dominated all facets of the game; Australia looked clueless. Still, a win is a win.

I really liked the look of Italy in the first half especially against the ABs. They were inventive with their kicking and looked to be controlling possession well. They fell away in the second half but it looks as though they gave the Wallabies a real scare. Big respect to their new coach Brunel or something like that as he is got this team humming. Looking forward to seeing how they stack up in the 6N next year.

Yeah, Kia. Some of those Italian linebreaks were like the Wallabies on song - just unlucky to connect a final pass or two. They really gave it to us. They really do look like a proper rugby team. I have a feeling they will get a few more 6N scalps early next year.

If we had lost that - I'd never drink cappuccino, eat pasta, pizza or frollick with young Milanese models ever again!

Re: Well done Italy...
Another thing the kiwis tried to take from us, our famed pavlovas...
Didn't see the match, only highlights on youtube, couple of my mates went to Italy but won't be seeing them till next week.
But looking at the scores disappointed why the Wallabies completely dropped off in the 2nd half. For sure the Italians must have played well but to be nilled in a half? Oh I know Wallabies have been nilled in a match this year, but after sticking 22 points on the 1st half expected something 2nd half. maybe the guys are just tired, but then so would the kiwis have been, and they're storming ahead as usual.
But to the point I came here to make, why are we persisting with beales at 10 and barnes at 15? surely beales's attacking threat is better from fb, where he gets a chance to get up a head of steam, than 10? Barnes I think has a better, if more conservative, head as 10. Like to see then swap round again. the new look back line seems to be coming on well, it's not days of JOC and QC et al, but seem to be solid enough.
The forwards are a mystery to me, some games they front up well in set pieces and then others they become powderpuffs, but with the limited players we've got it's pretty much the same people each game.
Well Wales next week, if we win that, and win it well, I would say this year has turned out excellent for the Wallabies, allowing for injuries and reshuffling of the side. No, nothing spectular but after the last Argintenia game I feel spirit has come back to the side.
