Fury, Degale, Eubank and Channel 5 Boxing
In your opinion, how good a job are ch5 doing in promoting the sport? I think any boxing on terrestrial TV is always a good thing, I just worry that Hennessey's stable isn't that big, he may struggle to keep the decent fights coming. Fury is being matched well at last, and he now has Degale v Eubank to build up, but that really is it as far as I can see.
Really hope his relationship with CH5 flourishes, and they can stage a World Title fight for fury on five. If Fury were by some miracle able to win a title whilst on terrestrial TV, we might see a small resurgence in boxing.
Re Fury singing alongside Johnson playing the piano - ridiculous.

Sweet mother of Jesus. I've just seen Tyson fury singing. Possibly the worst thing I've had to indure since having stitches removed from my severed toe.

Flintoff v bum wasn't a fight. It was an excercise in ego massaging by an arrogant ex cricketer

Flintoff's illness is a lack of maturity and a need to be the centre of attention...
He's disrespected the sport and that little Irish gnome has shown he'll do anything for for a few bucks.........

Embarassing....
Say what you like about the Flintoff fight but at least he went in and had a go. Whilst Fury has looked good in spells from Round 4 onwards he has postured to much...circled the ring with no real intent to fight.
Johnson should be banned after this...barely done anything & is there for the paycheck, nothing else. I have never seen such a lazy boxer...his punch output must be one of if not the worst in boxing?!
Also just to add...wish they would stop banging on about Fury's conditioning being good...mine would look immense if I barely worked during the round and my opponent didn't bother trying to force the issue at all.

Truss...
You are joking right?! It's not like Johnson is a 60 fight veteran who can no longer mix it at world level.
The guy has 2 losses on his record one against a World Champ & with a victory could propel himself into title contention (as could anyone such is the lack in talent)...why wouldn't he have a go?
If he hasn't the motivation to get in the ring and win then he shouldn't be there simple as. You started a thread about 2012 being a bad year for boxing yet you don't have a problem with this farce?
Of course Fury is there to impress and he hasn't...which I said. He could have upped the pace and probably stopped Johnson in this fight but he hasn't been aggressive enough & seems unwilling to take to many chances.

Don't think there was an AWFUL lot wrong with Fury's performance, he was boring, but he didn't appear to want the stoppage. Winning boring is still winning, hopefully he'll be more exciting next time.

Re: Fury, Degale, Eubank and Channel 5 Boxing
Firstly, id like to simply state that was the worst fight I have ever seen in 26 years.
Secondly, Price would knock Fury out within 6 rounds.
Thirdly, and the funniest, is that Fury is the most stupid thick boxer I have seen.
He danced around like Ali/Jones Jr randomly at times and it did nothing. He did it just at random times. Not only that but this statement actually made me cry:
" I dedicate this fight to Manny Steward because he said I would be the WBC Champion within 18 months......18 months ago"
hahahahahahaha
Guy is a 100% bell...

If you want to see a Fury that perhaps, just perhaps, could mix it at world level then yeah watch it. It is largely risk free, sticking to basics and not the usual exciting fight you might associate him with, but it was professional and effective.

It was boring and pathetic. He looked like flintoff when he boxed.
He will get nailed by ANY fighter within the world top 5 ie. Arreola.
Boring boring boring. Only good thing about that fight was his random dancing and Pacquiao celebrations post combination......which made him look a div.
Add to that his stupid inter is, and you clearly have World Class........a world class man sausage.

Those shorts were an utter disgrace to humanity. Surely he must have tried them on before he decided to wear in front of thousands of people.
A friend of mine who competes in MMA wears tight pink hot pants when he fights for a laugh. Don't think he is a woofta either.

Like I said earlier there's nothing wrong with winning boring, Johnson was trying to land one single shot all night but Fury wouldn't give him the opportunity. It wasn't a great performance, however it was one showed a different side to Fury, a more mature professional side. Wouldn't wanna rewatch it though.

Re: Fury, Degale, Eubank and Channel 5 Boxing
Ok so the plus points for fury first......
He won.
He beat a former title challenger with plenty to spare.
He fought a different style so showed he was adaptable.
Now the down side.
Johnson for some reason only came for a pay check (not furys fault granted and he was a late replacement).
The fight was very boring and didn't really go any further to convince me that he can handle world level. He still looks a million miles away from a fight with the K bros.
He continued his ridiculous show boating. Even though there really wasn't anything to show boat about.
I realise I'm being a little overly harsh seen as he can only beat what's in front of him and he did this comfortably but I did have to sit through this awful fight so I feel a bit aggrieved.

I thought Jonson fought the same game plan he did with Vitali.
Did people really think Fury was gonna blast him out? Not been done before, so not sure what people expected him to do.
I was just happy to have friends over to watch boxing and not have to pay
