I reckon it's going to be fundamental for her to carve out a sound full season and swing back into the centre of affairs in the women's 400m, so that she's got the required platform in place to launch such an enterprise next summer. Even if she doesn't medal in Daegu, running in the high 49s and earn a top five position will be solid enough.
But personally I think that Christine is effectively a better athlete than she was when she won in Beijing and as long as she can remain fit and go on lengthy training/racing runs, she's going to be in there with a shout. As should Nicola Sanders come to that, while Shana Cox is another I could see going sub 50 next year.
