How do you sculpt your guns?
As above- please share your approach to arm workouts.
Do you give much time to the forearms or just let them take care of themselves?
Any philosophies on how best to hit the biceps/triceps?
Are 1000 rep curls really of any use?

Re: How do you sculpt your guns?
Never done any forearm work..
Chins, curls, deadlifts have all served me well.............
Got good arms (pardon the modesty)....
Took the heavy duty approach.............sets include :
2 x barbell curls..........
2 x seated alternate dumbbell curls.....
1 x concentration curl............
On back days I do........ 2 x chins (with weight) and 2 x pullups (great for biceps)
and that's enough......for me

chins and pull-ups are probably best for arms. Curls are a waste of time IMO as you always going to lift less weight.

Interesting about the chin/pull ups being so good.
I do a lot of hammer curls and ez curl bar work usually. Forearms are still pretty slim though, i'm thinking of trying out the deadlift hold from the world of strongman to improve grip strength and forearm size. Has anyone here tried this?

Re: How do you sculpt your guns?
I would hold the weight at the top of each deadlift for a few seconds to improve my grip strength. I think it has helped a fair bit as it's my grip that is holding back my deadlift from progressing. I've also started using chalk and switching to a mixed grip on my work sets which have all contributed to me getting through a plateua a few months ago.

Chins and pull ups? Are they not the same thing?
I don't actually train arms specifically any more. I do chins which are great for them but other than that I let my back workout take care of my biceps and my chest workout take care of my triceps.

Yes they are...
Don't do a great deal if isolated bicep/tricep work as they are hit pretty hard with the big compound movements.
If I were to do specific exercises a barbell curl and skull work pretty well...

Thought as much, incontinentia.
I do both probably once a week. Maybe should do them more..
Since I stopped doing the isolated bicep and tricep work I haven't noticed a significant difference.

Re: How do you sculpt your guns?
I just do chins and dips for my arms.
If you want to add some isolation, just do barbell curls and tricep extensions. That should do it.
How your biceps will end up looking will be purely based on genetics and bodyfat levels.

Re: How do you sculpt your guns?
Seen a video on you tube once of a guy doing 20 clap-pull ups, i.e. he would let go of the bar at the top clap his hands and then catch the bar again. Thought it was very impressive.

Re: How do you sculpt your guns?
Yeh, i've seen similar videos incontinentia. I've seen one where a guy does a pull up, explodes up so that he lets go of the bar and catches it overhand to do a should-width chin up. He repeats that for as many reps as he can.
Seriously impressive power:strength ratio.
