Indian Top order: A big issue
As usual Indian top order folded again to some of the brilliant bowling of Finn and dernbach. Although india won but this shaky opening and kohli not fully back in form continued the search of good openers. Rahane is a bit young but gambhir not playing the way he used to is a big problem. I think Pujara should make a debut on 19. A change is required and i think this is the right time.

Welcome to the board, subhranshu.
I think Pujara deserves a crack, too. But at the expense of whom? Gambhir, maybe? I think that India should persist with Rahane, he has a very promising future.
I'd just like to take an opportunity to give Suresh Raina some credit, too. Often dismissed by many cricket fans on the back of a few poor Test performances, but he is a very useful limited overs player - often gets a decent score (without ever getting huge ones) to get his side out of trouble or propel them toward a difficult target, can clear the rope, and is a real team player as opposed to one that plays for an average.

Thanks Fist of fury.
Ya I think gambhir too need some rest like his partner shehwag. And team need some change. Its gud India didn't stick with rohit. Ya I think Pujara will handle the pressure for now as an opener, he is a so called opener in test batting at no. 3.

Raina For sure is a superb player for the limited over. In india he is regarded as India's t-20 expert. Although he has not able to convert 40's or 50's to big scores but the innings he plays surely took India out of trouble. But he need to be more consistent at the death. He many a time gives his wicket while clearing the rope. He should look for appropriate time, and ball and then attack.

Welcome Subhranshu.
Yeah, there are concerns on the India top order particularly Gambhir. A 50 apart on a flat monster, Gautam's form has been rather patchy and the kind of solidity and big scores that he used to provide up front aren't happening for him of late. Think Pujara should take his place at the top of the order, but I'd give him one last chance in the next match. On form Gauti is quite a valuable player, and I don't think Dhoni would bring about such a major change after winning today, although he did say during the post-match presentation that the openers have to see a dificult situation through on tracks that offer something for the bowlers early, ssomething that Gautam hasn't been able to do on 4 out of 4 situations, in the first match of this ODI series, there was nothing whatsoever for any kind of bowler on a horrible batting track and Gambhir scored a 50 and then gave it away. He failed in all the 3 games against Pakistan, he failed yet again here. But considering his last ODI hundred came 7 innings ago, one more chance is alright. But he has to score a big one, not 30s, 40s or even just a 50.
