Glasgow Warriors v Northampton Saints Saturday 19 January 2013 1335
First topic message reminder :
Well who does Toonie select for this game when he is about to lose 19 players to the Scottish 6Ns squad ?
Can the Warriors break this year's Heino duck ?
Can Saints win a 5 pointer, and, depending on results elsewhere still go through to the 1/4s?
Any Saints supporters travelling - the SRU site looks like Scotstoun is near capacity?
For me :
Welsh MacArthur Kalman
Swinson Ryder
Strauss, Wilson Fusaro (Harley if Fozzy not fit))
Kennedy Weir
Horne Dunbar
DTH Hogg Maitland
is my 15 to start with.

I didn't hear S Hastings go mental at the time as there was rather a lot of noise going off in my living room, much to my daughter's amusement!javascript:emoticonp('')UlstermaninGlasgow wrote:Imperialbigdave wrote:GLove39 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0UWfEwTCOhw better version of the Horne try (commentary & replays)
Scott Hastings goes mental there
Indeed, although I will admit to going a bit mental myself when it happened... Unfortunately this was beside the Saints bench so got a few dirty looks from Tongauiha and Hartley!!

That Horne try brings back memories of the Bath game from last season https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xG_LVf49Rg&feature=youtube_gdata_player not quite in the same league mind, but still a quality over time winner!

A great try. Thank you Glasgow for giving Scots rugby at least something to smile about. It was have been a travesty had both Scots side not won a single game in the competition.
Well done Peter Horne as well. I've not been particularly impressed with Horne so far this season, but that's an outstanding score.

Cheers for that, great to see the other 2 Glasgow tries. Amazing power by Strauss

Loved this from the Warriors forum:-
For me Hartley is the most hated man in all of rugby, he only has 2 settings - cheat and act like a wa*k! - disappointed he didnt get smashed
Too true !

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Northampton Saints Saturday 19 January 2013 1335
Just got around to watching the game in full - my thoughts:
* Saints didn't play like a team needing a TBP in the first half
* Manoa's hit on Jackson lacked arms for me
* I swear I saw Graeme Morrison perform a kick-step
* I feel bad about it, but I confess I feel nothing for Clark getting injured - karma
* Scott Wight is a very uncomplicated stand-off - what would Edinburgh give for him?
* Glasgow's first up tacklng was superb - Scotland will need to repeat that 5 times
* Hogg is back on form
* Kellock is the engine of Glasgow's pack, not Swinson - if only he could replicate that for Scotland
* If refs say "hands away" or "roll away noX", I wish they would follow thru on it
* Ben Foden is a shadow of the player he was
* Why did Scott Wight get taken off - bizarre sub?
* Waller is a brainless tw-at
* Saints will ultimately benefit from not having to participate in Europe any longer vis-a-vis their Prem aspirations
That is all

Think Wight injured himself... Didn't look particularly comfortable coming off.

Yes the commentary by Hastings (S) and Sanderson (?) was woeful throughout. Hastings had Sean Maitland at scrum half after Kennedy came on. Did like Hastings doing the South American, wendyball style commentary at the winning try right enough

Just watched the game on YouTube, great stuff but Scott Hastings speaks almost as much nonsense as that other Sky stalwart Frankie Sheehan.
Was Scott Wight's substitution an accident, nobody seemed to know what was going on?

Not sure about the Wight substitution. He appeared the last to know. Whatever it worked despite Toonie !
