Gladiators....are you ready?
EWF is proud to present their first ever show, The Iron Man tournament.
This will take place over a two day period, 4th and 5th February.
All eight superstars currently signed to the promotion will be tested to their absolute limits over a 48 hour period, in order to truly demonstrate what they are all about.
Monday 4th February will be all about the group stages. Two groups of four individuals will compete against each other in the hopes of qualifying through to Tuesday's semi-finals. In the group stages, the points system will be as follows:
*1 point for competing
*3 points for a pinfall victory
*5 points for a submission victory
*2 points for win by DQ or countout
*-2 points for a loss by DQ countout
*-3 points for a defeat by pinfall
*-5 points for a defeat by submission
The two superstars in each group with the most points after three fights will advance to the semi-finals
On Tuesday 5th February: We will witness the two semi-final matches, that will be contested in randomly determined match types. The competitors will not be aware of what they are facing before they enter the ring.
A battle royal will then be contested between the four superstars who failed to qualify for the semi-finals. The winner of this bout will be crowned the first ever EWF TV Champion
Later in the evening, the two remaining competitors in the "Iron Man" will be pushed to their absolute limits in a 60 minute iron man match to determine the rightful EWF World Heavyweight Champion.
When this news was announced, HyperEx chief, Daniel Magnusson said the reason for such a breath-taking event to start this promotion, is quite simply for the superstars involved to prove their worth.
Magnusson went on to say that there will be huge media coverage at this event, and this is a fantastic opportunity for not only the superstars but for the company to gain some new fans.
This really is the proving grounds.
