Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
Sorry mate Cruden top 3 in his position for me so a deal is hard with Nev not playing international rugby.

For me cruden not even top 10 in world. Unproven internationally and not shown any idea of how to play in rain. What for Fraser Pete. Have a look and let me know

Player bashing Matthew? Suppose the only guy ahead of him at the moment is Dan Carter.

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
Never been a fan. Loose defence and goes to pieces in wet. Not had a decent game for the ab's playing behind dominant all blacks team
Would have above him in no order
Carter
Nick Evans
Sexton
Morne steyn
Berrick Barnes
Quade cooper
Beale
Goosen
FTD on his day
Farrell( has delivered at int level)
Wilkinson
Maybe a few others. For me massively unproven. He is a phenomenal kicker at posts and has a box of tricks. Just needs to show he can tackle and play at next level
Needs to prove himself outside of

Un proven at international is bull Matt , He started the RWC final!
Him and SBW where the main reasons Chiefs won super rugby and i'v seen nothing to say his defense is off.

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
Due to slade and carter being injured.
Donald won the WC for them what does that mean?
Super 15 is way different to top level rugby and its defences. Cruden poor in defence but having sbw helps. Seen him get ran through plenty.
My point is he has been very average at int level despite playing in a dominant side.
All the others above have proven themselves at int level. I have the same feelings about flood and his ability at international.
Both are great club players but unproven at int level somewhat although flood has had a few brilliant games at int level.

Cruden only behind Carter, no discussion really.
Where's the rain thing from? He was fantastic for Chiefs in all conditions and took Ireland apart (I think was raining??)

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
He started the RWC Final as a result of injuries. Donald's kick at goal won the RWC Final, but it doesn't make him an international world beater.
Don't get me wrong, I rate Cruden. On the front foot, he is a fantastic player, but if you're asking me who I want at 10 in an English winter, there are a fair few players that I would select ahead of him.

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
I think he's magic.
Carter is the best, possibly ever and showing no signs of falling off but Cruden isn't too far off him. Possibly even better in attack currently.
Bloody AB's!

Sneakily got Goosen in that list I see Mat... Whats he done internationally?
Rate Cruden but hes a fair way behind Carter, Sexton, Evans for me. I'd rate him on a par with Farrell, FTD, Barnes, Beale, Cooper but as Pete said he needs to be played in the right conditions

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
Goosen has had an effect on the few internationals he has played was my point SJE apart from that agree cruden maybe is equal to the others on the list but certainly not better.
On a dry day with someone to do his defending like SBW and front football then yes he can play but needs to prove it at int level.
In English conditions I would take many ahead of him.

NZ isn't too different too England, his defence is no worse than anyone else on that list.

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
His defence aint as bad as Coopers but he aint anywhere as good as Carter/Sexton who would be behind Farrell/Wilko defensively for me.
Cruden had a much bigger effect on the Ireland game then anything Goosen has had. Some majestic rugby that day. He ruined Ireland while he was on the field

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
Here is what I am looking to bring in for Irish transfer wise.
Hooker
Blindside (available through 6 Nations)
EQ Centre
EQ Winger
All players can go as everyone has a price, and for the EQ players I will release from the areas where Irish have more than 1 EQ player who could start, so lock, openside and full back.

Damn.
Really keen on Evans - anything around Webber, Hernandez, Tait in a deal (think you mentioned hooker, and Tait can cover 13, both wings and fb).

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
I'm keen on Johann Muller, Steffon Armitage, Keegan Daniel, Ruan Pienaar, JP Pietersen and Delon Armitage.
Most of my squad are available for transfer, the only players not available are Matt Mullan, Jannie du Plessis, Flip van der Merwe, Louis Deacon, Joe van Niekerk, Ma'a Nonu and Jean de Villiers.

Re: London Irish - Caretaker Manager Page
Any names in mind, as not sure what positions you see as world class there.
Can't really lose centres as have only got 4 now.
Could potentially do Asthon, Phillips and Hernandez for Pienarr and Evans?

Would this help as a starter;
Basteraud + Fraser + Garvey
=
Varndell + Dennis + Manoa
I know it a little unbalanced on EQ, couldn't quite think who else to offer! Would have some interest in Delon as well
