Nice to wake up this morning to fresh clean green everywhere.Good breeze to dry things up.Course always looks good after a snowmelt.
Hopefully we can start to wind up into the season.
Murray got his hands full this morning

Be a bit wet underfoot, I'd think. So far so good for Murray.

It'll be a while before most courses dry up a bit, and that assumes a dry spell which isn't forecast at the moment.

Congu estimate that 85% of courses in the UK are closed today. With plenty of rain on the forecast, I think it's going to be a while before most of us are out there again.

Snow given way to flooding and not much prospect of any let up in the deluge this week. Should have planned a short trip to the villa, I'm in danger of losing all the momentum built up playing so many rounds while I was away in December.

Course closed last weekend. Went over for a quick look. There was still a fair bit of ice and snow on Saturday. The place looked a bit of a mess TBH. The sledgers and skiers have been having a whale of a time. Probably looks worse than it actually is. Green staff should have been able to get and start repairing the damage today.

Tell thee what would have been a great sled/ski slope last week...the 3rd fairway on the Monty Course at Celtic Manor, come to think of it the 10th & 12th would have been not too bad either and the 3rd on the Roman Road.

Took advantage of the course being open for the first time in a fortnight to play a few holes. Course was still pretty wet but the greens were okay and there was barely another soul about. No trolleys allowed so I carried 7 clubs and got round 16 holes in less than two hours and really enjoyed it.

This is what makes the £1500 a year worthwhile. There's no way I'd have played if I'd had to have paid on the day but was very glad I'd made the effort once I was playing.
