Most people wanted to see Twelvetrees and Tuilagi start against Ireland, and many reckon that is the future for England. Almost everyone with an opinion thinks Brown is not the solution on the left wing, and England need a genuine winger there.

Yet after the Ireland match, everyone agreed that Barritt should have been selected, and that Twelvetrees played OK, but the weather didn't suit his role as play maker. Likewise lots of comments that it was "useful to have a full back at wing" given the weather and the subsequent kicking game.

So how much should a coach vary the team according to the opposition and the weather? Or does the coach always know his best 15 and 23?

Should Brown be at fullback, unless the weather's lousy, in which case we have Goode there and Brown on the wing? Should we play Barritt and Tuilagi in the centres, unless BOD is playing OC for the opposition, and we therefore bring in Barritt to neutralise him?

In the 2003 RWC quarter final, England v Wales, Wales were leading at half time. Woodward sent on Catt to provide an extra play maker and turned the game. Shouldn't Catt have started given the specific threat posed by the Welsh.
