Do Wigan even have 30,000 fans to fill out on allocation at Wembley if they make it?

Delighted for Wigan as yet again were seeing more of the magic of the FA Cup. Figuoera is having a class game, Olly said he was "crap"
However i really wanted to see Everton win the fa cup, as its what they deserve, although a huge 2nd half comeback could be on!

I had half an eye on the game. I switched over with about 25 minutes gone, come back 10 minutes later and see Wigan have got 3 goals in 4 minutes. Football. Bloody hell.

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
So basically we're looking at or i'm predicting in the semi......
Man Utd/Man City/Wigan/Blackburn
If the Manchester's draw each other then the final will be woeful. Really hoping they avoid each other just so the cup can have some kind of exciting climax and bring back some of the magic of this competition.

There could be a Championship side in the Europa league should the two Machester sides meet in the semi. Not sure either side would want that really.

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
An all Manchester final could be as bad as Utd/Chelsea(07) Utd/Liverpool(96) Utd/Arsenal(05) and so on.
We haven't had a decent final since 2006.

A joke but money talks I suppose. Would rather they revert back to Villa Park and Old Trafford but it ain't happening is it.
There's something comical about a set of fans singing we're going to Wembley during a quarter final tie.
I used to love the old Wembley on Final day. The long walk out and all that. It really smacked of a big event. Wembley, to me, just looks like a big club ground. That's just me being nostalgic I suppose.

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
Personally as a fan of a so called "lesser" club, I like the idea...
Gives me a chance to see my team at Wembley. I can go to Villa Park and Old Trafford to see Norwich most seasons (hopefully), but not often I will see them at Wembley

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
Reminds me of an interview I read about Harry Redknapp a few years ago.
He said after his West Ham side beat Man Utd in the 2001 cup 4th Round (I think it was?) the players - all pumped up - starting hollering "we're on our way to Wembley" when Redknapp duly reminded them that it was actually the Millenium Stadium! Classic.

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
Wembley semi's are shocking, killed everything about the climax of the F.A Cup in my opinion and the hard work and achievement in trying to get their. The big day, suits, fans everywhere, no other premier league game on at the same time, just sole focus on one big game. Never be the same, don't know when I last got excited about the F.A Cup final.
Just hoping for a Manchester final or a Chelsea vs Man City final.

Agreed John. I think it lost it's prestige around the time that Man Utd were nudged into abandoning it in favour of the World Club Championships in 2000.

I wonder why RVP is on the bench. Hernandez is great but he's definitely better coming on as a sub to run at defenders.

On another note, Millwall v Blackburn is in the running for worst game ever.

Fantastic pass by Carrick though, think that should be mention before the goalkeeping mistake.

While United have been superb, this is as poor a defensive performance I've seen from Chelsea in a while. United look like they could score every time they attack.

Chelsea deserved f all out of that game. It was all about Man Utd not killing them off and being too slack in possession. Still, I'm glad Azard wasn't on at the start.

It's a great draw... If recent finals between big clubs have told us anything, it is they are boring as hell.Olly wrote:Well that's not the draw anybody wanted...
Atleast now we will either get a few goals or a huge shock (and the FA Cup is due one).
Man City v Man United or Chelsea

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
First of all that was an embarrassment from Man Utd in the second half. I'm still amazed at the lead this club has in the EPL, says something about the other teams and the reason we're getting less and less teams through to the Champions League latter stages.
Valencia is just woeful, fails to take on a man, technically dreadful, can't pass & can't even cross properly, either puts it in the stand or drills it low and hopes for the best. Cleverley wouldn't get in any of the top sides anywhere and just doesn't have the game to impact in big games and it's astonishing he's now a starter for England ahead of genuine quality in Carrick. Typical that Hodgson and the rest not appreciating a different type of technical player in the mould of a Pirlo. Also a player like Welbeck just infuriates me, yes he's improved but his game is short in the most important department of a striker's game. He gets all the over the top praise for his game but what he's paid to do, which is score, he continually fails.......1 goal in like 12 league games this year. Fergie loves these players and it's his downfall and it's showing in the results. Rooney has like 10 in 12 games or something, yet Fergie just wastes him on the left wing, no wonder he's ineffective and getting a load of criticism, if anything RVP is the one who failed against Madrid in both legs and hasn't scored in five.
Credit to Chelsea for the comeback and credit to Benitez, although stupid Chelsea fans will still sing, 'bring back Di Matteo'. It was a masterstroke changing the tactics and bringing Mikel on and freeing Ramires. Same thing with Man City and Yaya Toure when he is freed up and allowed to roam further up the pitch. Lampard is only effective when penalties are awarded, harsh but in reality truthful.
As for the draw, basically whoever win the semi between City & Chelsea/United has won. The interesting thing for me is seeing Wigan potentially reaching the final and grabbing a europa league spot. If they survive this season from relegation and grab a european place then I'm straight down the bookies and putting a significant amount of cash on Wigan being relegated in the 2013/14 season. They barely survive each season anyway, just think of the added pressure and strain on that poor squad with european thursday nights to deal with. If hurt Stoke and it killed Newcastle's season.........Wigan will go the same way.

im amazed that wigan who are in serious threat of relegation have gone from being in danger of being the victims of a couple of cup upsets to having a huge chance of being in the cup final. unfortunately, like bradford, whoever gets to the final between millwall, blackburn and wigan, they are going to get hammered

I actually think Wigan would have an alright chance of winning the FA Cup, they're known for pulling off the big upsets when they matter. I'd love it if they won it.

Re: FA Cup 6th round draw 2013
If Wigan reach the final & survive relegation then they will almost certainly in my opinion be relegated in the 13\14 season. Poor small squad that barely survives each year, just think of the added strain of Europa league football playing Thursday/Sunday. Stoke & Newcastle more stable EPL teams that struggled......Wigan would crumble. Football is like that, a success out of the blue usually is followed by something bad. Pompey winning the f.a cup is an example.
Expect man city to win the cup this year, just imagine two f.a cup triumphs in finals against stoke & Wigan. Probably saved mancini`s job in all the problems he's faced
