The history of boxing in film Empty The history of boxing in film

This documentary that was on BBC4 the other night, a pretty interesting look into the history of boxing movies. It transpires that when it comes to the movies, boxing has featured more than any other sport.

You'll either enjoy it or hate it. My personal opinion is it lacks some real boxing experts but I found it quite interesting all the same.

Watched it on Sunday. Enjoyable enough, but a few innaccuracies. Rocky Graziano being described as the Heavyweight champion being the one that comes to mind.

Watched it last night, lost interest during the Million Dollar Baby section but enjoyed the rest.

I still don't think Raging Bull is all that though, might have to watch it again to see what I've apparently missed.

i see your point. i'd say it is the best film with boxing in it.

the performances are brilliant - de niro alone was an acting masterclass. the weight fluctuation alone is worth a bonus point.
Scorsese is the best director on the planet in my eyes.

Raging Bull is a great film. Best performance from an actor I have ever seen.
