The maul to make a comeback?
Watching the Irish french game, I was applauding the Irish maul. They don't have the biggest pack but with power, pace and organisation, the french didn't have an answer.
The English sides used to get derided for boring mauls and now have reached a point where they can't do them anymore but all sides should have a couple of proper big guys rather than these identikit 6ft 4 'athletes'. It would also create a bit more space further out into the current RL midfield for centres to be creative rather these either bosh merchants or defensive generals....
It is all linked and just a thought.....
