A spanner in the works?
*The jingle of "EWF Weekly updates" echoes through the speakers and then we are greeted to the faces of Harold Dixon and Traci Cooper.
Harold: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to EWF Weekly. I am Harold Dixon, joined as ever, by the beautiful Traci Cooper.
*The camera pans to the red haired Cooper, who smiles into the camera.
Traci: Thank you, Harold and good afternoon to the EWF Populus.
Harold: With just seven says to go until the giant Atonement pay per view, this broadcast has been sent some worrying footage that we have been asked to screen to you. Whilst we have yet to gain any concrete verification from EWF management or anyone in the HyperEx conglomerate, it would seem that this video is not doctored in any way, shape or form.
Traci: The footage was shot last night right here in the Coliseum, when EWF was presenting its weekly house show. As Harold has just said we are waiting for confirmation from EWF but we will show you the footage right now.
*The screen begins to change and shows footage that has been recorded by a fan with a handheld camera. It shows Jason Sparkz standing on the top rope and a local masked wrestler laying on the canvass. Sparkz is preparing to leap from the top when Vincent Costello appears on the apron and pushes Sparkz off the top and into the middle of the ring, causing a disqualification. Sparkz lands on his knee and rolls forwards, but it immediately looks like there is a problem. Sparkz is clutching his knee and rolling around on the canvass as the referee quickly throws up an "X" to the back.
*Vincent Costello is standing on the apron, looking slightly surprised by what has happened. Medics soon appear on the scene and are in the ring, checking on Sparkz' condition. The local masked wrestler is kneeling by Sparkz' side but the cameras' vision is now blocked as the fans stand up to see what is happening. We get a quick glipse of Sparkz with a knee brace on, being strapped to a stretcher and he looks in a lot of pain. The referee tries to lay the EWF Championship ontop of Sparkz but Vincent Costello snatches the belt from him and begins to pose with the championship. The masked wrestler confronts Costello but is blasted in the face by the belt. The footage then ends and we return to the studio with Harold Dixon and Traci Cooper.
Harold: There is a lot of speculation on social networking today regarding the injury sustained by Jason Sparkz last night, but as of yet we do not have an official word from EWF or anybody involved with the medical team.
Traci: With Atonement just seven days away this would present a serious complication to the upcoming EWF World Heavyweight Championship bout between the champion, Jason Sparkz and his challenger, Vincent Costello. Right now it is just a matter of waiting for an update, which we will of course bring to you as soon as we have it.
Harold: Our best wishes go out to Jason Sparkz and we hope this is just a minor injury that will not present any problems in regards to the Atonement event. As soon as we hear from Daniel Magnusson or anyone on the EWF payroll we will be sure to update you. But for now, thank you for joining us.
Traci: Thanks everyone!
*The theme jingle plays again before we fade out to black.
