Fitz? Surely there is a better winger available, even Earls. I would have Zebo, Gilroy, Bowe, D.Kearney and Trimble all ahead of him. I would agree that in recent years there is a lack of good front-row forwards in the U20's, certainly compared to what Wales have been producing. The back-row still looks pretty hot though.

Think Fitz, has more potential/natural talent than any other irish winger in history . It only took him half a year to get into the Irish team, he also started in the 2nd test for the Lions.Morgannwg wrote:Fitz? Surely there is a better winger available, even Earls. I know all that. But I still find that he is an average player and totally overrated.

his form was undeniably good in 09. Who's to say the likes of Zebo and Gilroy wont drop off in the years to come, having never reached those heights?

We have all our eggs in one basket and are hoping that at least one of Archer at Munster,Moore or Furlong at Leinster and a young LH at Ulster (his name escapes me) who is switching to TH next season can push on.

I think he's far better than that but agree he hasn't lived up to his potential, any time he has played over the last 2 years he has looked like he is finally going to deliver but injury has curtailed his progress.I would love to see him kick on and really deliver but up til now he hasn't justified the hype.

Speculation I guess, just like your article. However from what I, that is me, Morg, have seen is that those two particulars (Zebo and Gilroy) look like they have more skill and potential than Fitz did when he was just emerging. I think Fitz is a good player for Leinster but average for Ireland.

....how is that having all of our eggs in one basket exactly?

As a new poster I supposed you should be allowed some leeway but you are coming across as a complete wind up merchant.

Fitz has never lived up to his potential though. Doesnt have an international standard rugby brain.

Ah yes, I get it now.
Both Moore and Furlong are very highly rated, can see Moore getting more game time next season with Hagan off to LI. No harm there, he's a barrell of a lad, very hard to scummage against I'd say...

Can't understand the total non-consideration of Zebo and Gilroy. Both are young enough to make the wings their own by the time 2015 rolls around and since their emergence have looked distinctly more impressive than Conway and/or Fitz.

I say dont write off Trimble either. If he is used properly and can replicate his Ulster form, there is no reason why he shouldnt be in the squad. The future is bright (TH aside)!!
