Cracking game, really thought Torres should have had a pen towards the end, Aguero was lucky not to get red. Only wish that was the final. As it is, I hope Wigan win next month. And yes Nick, I think Wigan are in the Europa League regardless of the result.

How was that not a pen on Torres at the end?

Not to mention a red card for a professional foul.

Wigan are in Europe. Much better than Millwall representing us abroad. Could have a Birmingham going on and go down with European qualification. I prefer it being opened up to the league places but would be fun to see Wigan's style in Europe.
Lets see if Aguero gets a retrospective ban. Toure seems to find his form at Wembley, Ivorians must like the pitch

I swear Wigan only took like 50 fans to Norwich lol. How many are actually going to go abroad to see them play?

If Wigan go down, their fixture list will be a bit congested to say the least!

Wigan aren't in Europe just yet, since City haven't mathematically reached the Champions League .

Correct but they will inevitably be in Europe next season. Nothing to shout about getting into the Europa League with a poor & small squad. Basically, if Wigan survive relegation this season then next season they will have to endure another horrid season where injuries & fixture congestion will only add to their already pre-existing issues and they will inevitably be relegated next season. Stoke were impeded by the Europa League and it horrifically effected Newcastle this season in the domestic league. All I can say is good luck Wigan, enjoy the present but I fear with european football there may be dark, dark days to come and a return to Championship football.
Negative outlook, maybe........more realistic in football terms.

Don't they only get into the qualifying rounds anyway? They'll probably go out very early and not have to worry about fixture congestion.

Yeah they do, but the qualifying rounds are ridiculously easy.
Birmingham made it through them, when in the Championship with a fairly depleted squad due to the financial troubles they were in

They'll probably throw out the reserve team for those games and pray they do get knocked out.

Middlesbrough and Fulham were probably written off prior to their campaigns also I would imagine?
Good luck to Wigan.

Exactly. It's just great for their history to say they got into Europe. For a small club like Wigan that is a fantastic achievement, and they did it playing god football as well.

Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
The FA say Sergio Aguero will not receive a retrospective punishment because Chris Foy says he saw the initial contact but didn't see the actual stamp. What a f****** w*****!!!! He was against Chelsea the whole game!!! The FA showing how completely useless they are, yet again!!!!
There's Rooney's elbow on a Wigan player, McManaman on Haidara, Rio on Torres, Kompany on Torres and Aguero on David Luiz off the top of my head that have all gone unpunished. If all of these incidents happened on the street or after a nightclub clears out there'd be police action and all these players get off without a so much as a fine or ban. Hopefully City see sense and give him an internal punishment.

I'd love to see a McManaman in a nightclub

I thought Torres' rake down Aguero's achilles heel was pretty unpleasant as well but you've not mentioned that MJ33. Would you advocate an internal punishment for that?

Besides which it's more of a punishment to Chelsea not to ban Torres and have their chairman insist he plays.

Well, that's not as bad but if he did it with intent then yes. It's one thing for feet to come together and studs going into not very pleasant places but all that I've listed are actual assaults.
Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
As far as I'm concerned Torres will wear the mask until the day he leaves the club. He's been fantastic recently. Scored more than Tevez, Aguero and Rooney this season.

If he did it with intent? When was the last time you saw someone attempt to tackle by stepping down. Hell I've got no problem with footballers (or fans) attempting to kick crap out of each other, as it makes for a far more interesting spectacle than the usual fare, but at least be honest when analysing it.
Pity for Chelsea Torres didn't score more than Aguero on Sunday.

Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
Torres has like 20 in 55 this season or something
Aguero has about 15 in 34
Aguero also has 10 goals in the PL in 25 games, as opposed to Torres' 7 in 30 games.

Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
@GSC - some people on here make me laugh with their own made up stats, well corrected.
I find this whole Aguero stamping story quite funny. Firsty, everyone knows the F.A are an embarrassment, nothing new there. Secondly, hearing David Luiz talking to the press about the tackle, stating he should be banned and it was dangerous behaviour......talk about being a hypocrite. Haven't heard many people on here talking about the absolute brutal, clearly intentional elbow to the side of the face by David Luiz on a Brentford player only 6 weeks ago in the earlier rounds of the cup. The player only came on in the second half and had to be immediately substituted. Luiz is a dirty player and Aguero was just giving him a taste of his own medicine. Chelsea fans complaining about this are an embarrassment and the Torres challenge was also worthy of further punishment but funnily enough they seem to forget about that.

If you're talking about me posting made up stats about Torres I'd like proof. All I said is he's scored more goals. Which is true. I didn't mention anything about how many games have been played.
And don't act all high and mighty like you wouldn't be the same had your club been on the receiving end of the refs terrible decision making in a cup semi.
Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
I wasn't having a go but it's important to take into account goals per game ratio when comparing two strikers and particularly if one is scoring the majority of his goals in a weak below standard European competition to that of the Champions League which Aguero was partially involved in.
City were the better team and deserved to win. The referee decision was wrong but that did not impact the game result in my opinion. Referee decisions are part and parcel of football. David Luiz is not an innocent party by any stretch of the imagination after seeing him play in this country. What he did against Brentford was disgraceful and, although you might want to forget it, I and many others certainly won't.

Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
What happened against Brentford has nothing to do with what happened on Sunday and how can you say the refs decisions didn't impact the result? City were on the ropes and Torres should have had a penalty and had that been scored Chelsea would have gone on to ride the momentum to a win.
Re: The FA Cup semi finals 2013
I do like the way that everyone has overlooked Luiz's elbowing Aguero before the stomp tackle
