PRIZEFIGHTER LINEUP! Pick your winners...
Lineup as released by Barry Hearn - although given how much it has changed thus far - who'd bet against it changing again?
Kevin Johnson-Gregory Tony
Michael Sprott-Tye Fields
Mike Perez-Kertson Manswell
Lucian Bot-Konstantin Airich
Pick your semis and finalists!

Re: PRIZEFIGHTER LINEUP! Pick your winners...
Well -
If I were putting my money anywhere - I would go for Kevin Johnson.
For the future of HW boxing - I'd like Mike Perez to do well - relatively young, hard and fast hands etc. However - he has only fought bums thus far - and this may be a stern test.
I don't rate Airich much - although he does have a hard R hand - but he's lost to has-beens and never-weres. I saw him beaten up by a fat social worker in a similar tournament (biggers better boxing) that was eventually won by a kickboxer making his pro boxing debut.
So in summary IMO its Johnson's to lose - and I'd like to see a Johnson-Perez final (although I'd be supporting Perez - I'd expect him to lose).

Micheal Sprott for me he has experience of prizefighter which should hold him in good stead. Should have the crowd behind him as well.

Not sure Kevin Johnson's style suits 3 rounders.

Juke he isn't the biggest of punchers and takes a few rounds to get going. Wouldn't put money on him.

Decent odds on Sprott given his prizefighter experience.

Gonna stick a spanner in the works and go for Tye Fields as a wildcard. Simply because he's big, crude and chinny so it'll be exciting! 3 rounds only so he will be using his size and power to try to overwhelm.
Now watch him be steamrollered by Sprott...

Re: PRIZEFIGHTER LINEUP! Pick your winners...
Hard to predict what exactly will happen with Tye Fields and Sprott. Looking at Fields, he tends to plod forward, throwing his right jab and just waiting for the straight left. I think Sprott's going to have to move around for the entire fight. Also, although Fields has a decent workrate for a big man, I think Sprott can possibly set a faster pace than Fields will be comfortable with, but will risk getting caught himself.
I think Sprott might have also sparred with the Klitschkos again recently (for chisora/solis prep) so that can only help.

Re: PRIZEFIGHTER LINEUP! Pick your winners...
I'm wondering if Gregory Tony (14(12) 1) might be a decent outside bet . Only boxing loss is to undefeated top 10 heavy, Robert Helenius, even if he did get beat up. Plus the guy has a big Kickboxing/Muay Thai background (74 Wins (51KOs), 13 Losses) and has dabbled in MMA (2 wins from 2 fights). So the guy certainly loves a scrap.
I imagine if he somehow manages to out-hussle Kevin Johnson that he would have a good chance of winning it.
Better still, let him use some of his Muay Thai and turn Prizefighter into the Kumite from 'Bloodsport'.

Looks like Kevin Johnson is out and is being replaced by Evgeny Orlov.

Nothing official or on any news sites/twitter yet. Just what it says on SkyBet.
