What's your personal worst?
We all have those shows that your friends, family, or the majority of the world seem to love, which you find yourself struggling to digest.
For me it's Big Bang Theory. Every time I see someone claim it to be 'brilliant' or 'intelligent' writing I launch into an arrogant and irritating tirade as to every thing that is wrong with it. Just an awful excuse for a show.
So what about your cases of confusion as to why a show is loved?

Agree with Big Bang Theory.
Red Dwarf is the same, painfully unfunny with stupid, annoying characters - can't stand it when I turn to channel Dave & they've got an all day Red Dwarf special going on.

Top gear. Used to really like it but its absolutely atrocious now
Dr Who. Just doesn't interest me at all
Any reality TV, whichever one seems to be running at the time of its popularity. At the minute BGT but in the autumn it'll be xfactor then I'm (no longer) a celebrity

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Not so much them as the audience, who clap like seals all night.
Game Of Thrones. I've never seen it, but facebook friends go on and on about it, which is annoying enough,

Re: What's your personal worst?
I cannot stand the so called celebrity reality shows. I'm talking about things like Peter Andre My Life or the Kardashian cr@p. My missus loves watching ones called Guiliana and Bill and Tia and Tamera. I cannot stand them, I can't believe I pay my sky subscription for that tat. They aren't celebrities, why should we care about what you do in your z-list lives!

The amount of cooks there are on TV............
People go to acting school for years to try to get on TV..........
When it's easier learning how to make bacon and eggs and getting on instead..

The Simpsons - once upon a time about 20 odd years ago I would have said that it was the best thing ever to have been on television but it's just not remotely funny any more. Watched a recent episode having not watched any for a few years and I don't know why they even bother with a storyline or dialogue.

Re: What's your personal worst?
Murder She Wrote - some interfering old **** just strolls into the local police station, tramples all over crimes scenes and starts telling seasoned investigators how to suck eggs. Then she wanders 6 feet away from a murder scene and happens to find a vital bit of evidence that 20 people managed to miss. Add to the fact that she's airbrushed in ever scene despite her face really looking like a scrotum that been in a very hot bath and then liberally doused with talcum powder.

Re: What's your personal worst?
Anything that involves the audience booing/cheering a judges opinion despite the fact that they're bang on the money
Gary Barlow - "You hit three bum notes and forgot the words halfway through, you peed your pants and walked off stage...NOT your best performance!"
AUDIENCE - "Boooooooo, screw you Barlow, you know nothing"
However, I also can't abide this fad of blowing smoke up the contestant's hole for the same thing
Louis Walsh - "You hit three bum notes and forgot the words halfway through, you peed your pants and walked off stage...I thought it was great, you bring something new to the show and I think you deserve to be in the final"
Audence - (Screams itself into a prolapse and loses an eyeball)
Essentially I hate Louis Walsh and wish him a long lingering illness (but not death as that would be him getting off lightly).
Jon Richardson - He lost the plot over the Jimmy Carr tax scandal and tried blaming him for the closure of every children's hospital on the planet. Truth is that he was just jealous that Jimmy didn't pass on his accountant's details to him. He comes across as a smug friendless little t**t who believes he's more intelligent that everyone else. Lee Mack gets a nine letter word on "8 out of 10 cat does Countdown" recently and Richardson nearly cried.
Michael McIntyre - say no more

Re: What's your personal worst?
You're entitled to your opinion...just a shame it's that particular one. Why did the Comedy Roadshow have to be renamed Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow? Was he personally responsible for trawling the pubs and clubs seeking out new talent only to then have the same old guff on that we always have.?Stella wrote:McIntyre is great, Dave.
Shapi Korsandi - you got divorced...get over it. Given your continued (and some would say, spiralling) levels of bitterness about it, I'd wager that this general unpleasant attitude you have was a major factor in your husband leaving.

Jon Richardson's generally ok on 8/10 cats, far prefer Jason Manford though.
Michael McIntyre does have some vaguely funny material but he does most of the laughing at it.

There's only so many jokes about periods and cake.
Men comics don't joke about being men
Women mostly joke about being women
NOT ALL!
Josie Long is cool.
Most. The ones that get on telly

Walking Dead - it is basically Eastenders, people moaning about affairs and stuff, and then everyone falls out, and occasionally, one of the undead rocks up (again paralells with eastenders) and distracts everyone whilst they find a nice televisual way of killing it, then back to the irritating bickering

Re: What's your personal worst?
I can't stand Top Gear. I would gladly torture those three muppets on that show. Starting with 'The Hamster', by putting him on a wheel of razor blades whilst getting him to run it bare footed.
Eastenders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, any unreality/talentless show, Big Bang Theory is crap.
The only shows I watch which is online because I don't watch television are Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire and I've started watching The Americans.

100% agree with Big Bang Theory. What a load of BS and my mates think is comedy genius
Also How I Met Your Mother? They love that aswell and which is also bollox
Hate Family Guy....but like American Dad! Dont know why
But the likes of TOWIE and that, my friends hate aswell haha.
Reality TV grates on me aswell, but that is when I get my me time away from the missus so it doesnt bother me too much. X Factor has to be the worst one.

Sorry fella but you can see she's a hefty lass and even when she's dressed up they hang waaaaay down. Unfettered I'd wager they're dangling down by one of her lower stomachs and that I'm afraid is a MASSIVE turn off. Add to that the fact that her nose looks like a lump a plasticine that's been stuck onto an overmade up transvestite by a blind child with five thumbs and you've got yourself a sex starved cripplingly unattractive woman who says "c()cks" at lotStella wrote:Nice ti.sDAVE667 wrote:They sadly reinforce far too many stereotypes than they dispel.
