I think we knew it was coming. Massive talent blighted by injury after injury.

Well can't say that's a surprise, but what a shame.
I remember back in 07 he looked immense, exciting in attack - had a great way of pirouetting out of tackles and was a rock under the high ball.

Shame for Rory L. Good full back and a no fear tackler. Good luck to him in the future. clap

Great player, and a real shame for it to end this way.

I can't help noticing that the Rabo website has a picture of Sean up.

Having been constantly mistaken for my own older brother ("Honestly, sir, I'm Ian. Andrew left school three years ago. In fact he never even studied paper-folding...") all I can say is "FFS".

Hardly surprising given that he's never been able to play more than a handful of consecutive games without something going wrong again for him. All the best in his post-rugby career!

Ian,

wait until The Hootsman picks up this story - the picture will be of Nico Matawalu they are that thick.

They are like twins though....confusion is probably to be expected as the intern is told to resurrect a picture for publishing. "That looks like him. It'll do"

No great surprise. Without sounding mercenary, it will free up a good chunk of money as I believe he was one of the highest paid players for Glasgow

Always sad to see someone have to retire before their time but it was the logical step after so much bad luck. Three big earners off the books in him, Barclay and Morrison.

Yes, good luck to him and all the others moving on or retiring. Rory was always really brave, too brave perhaps, he showed real commitment when he played which often resulted in him getting injured. Feels like an era coming to an end this week with R Lamont, Chunk and Morrison retiring.

Speaking of the 2 Lamonts being mistaken for one another, anyone remember back in 07 against France when Sean got sin binned for a tackle Rory had made!?
