Only the wise shall profit from the legacy. The legacy remains mystical however and etheral and only those that are truly willing to believe will truly benefit from all that is ahead of them. You must however, already believe that you have profited and will continue to do so in the future if your state of mind is open to all that is before you without judgement or prejudice.

The legacy plan is winning back to back RWCs, taking the lead on overall tourney victories and squashing all pretenders to the throne. For all the rest there's MasterCard and Joubert.

I sort of expected a T1 Frak response.
Still there'll be fine words spouted at the IRB.
Buttered parsnips anyone?

I think that's Ruby saying: Legacy? What legacy? And laughing after he says it.
I have to admit I'm not too fond of that fluffy idealistic claptrap word either - legacy. Sport is sport. People come, they play and go home. Yep, money.

So long as the T1s forever maintain the dominant thrusting role in the missionary position.

On a parochial level,it is brilliant that Brighton have got some games. It can only help raise Rugby's profile in this backwater.
Did anyone realise that the Lions gathered at Eastbourne RFC before going off to NZ in 1971?Weird factoid of the day.

Re: RWC 2015 - What's the legacy plan?
I would love to believe that as it is being staged in England, the squad will visit schools around the country, especially near where games are being played to really boost the participation levels, much as the 2003 WC did.
Sadly the legacy is more likely to be a bumper pay day for the RFU/IRB committees, allowing for extra champers at their meetings.
That and thousands of school kids who got free tickets to watch a game being bored at the sight of 16 fat blokes collapsing in a heap for no reason a few times before someone takes a kick at goal, thus putting them off the sport for life.

I think that you are being unduly harsh on South Africa!Bathman_in_London wrote:I would love to believe that as it is being staged in England, the squad will visit schools around the country, especially near where games are being played to really boost the participation levels, much as the 2003 WC did.

Either Parling or manu tualigi could start, if not them no one.
A lot on the bench though. And that's not having a snype but it is what will happen e.g. cole, Tom youngs, parling (if not starting), owen and ben youngs

Re: RWC 2015 - What's the legacy plan?
Legacy does mean something either concrete or constructive in rugby development.
I have heard no suggestion or even a whiff of a suggestion that any such proposal is in place.
In my favoured club in fact it has been the reverse.
The original proposal in England's bid for the RWC included a redevelopment of Welford Road at the club's own expense. A 30000 capacity stadium in the Heartlands of the country was sniffed at by the IRB in its chase for profit via footy stadia.
What finer legacy could there have been for English rugby rather than a medium-sized ground for domestic/European semis, major A national games and minor Internationals?
Leicester is not bereft of supporters nor is it poorly connected in the national transport infrastructure.

In all honesty I cannot belive the way the RFU have snubbed their leading club at Welford Road - What an opportunity missed alll round

RFU? I thought it was the IRFU. But to be truthful it's a little like re-reading the last page of Animal Farm.
