Good list, would go along with Family Ties, Golden Girls & Cheers & add Fame and Facts of Life.

(Would also get rid of the "sit com" part of the title.)

Cheers Galted

Did'nt like Punky Brewster aye?

That and cheers are my fav. The Americans sure knew how to rustle up a little magical number did'nt they. These tunes are so instantly recognisable with great melody.

Not familiar with Punky Brewster, will try to youtube it. Cheers is just genius. I think my bank holiday is going to be a long, drunken evening of 80s nostalgia & melancholy.

Why the hell not?

What a great decade for tv and music. Those tunes were great tho. You could sing along and prepare for some great light hearted entertainment. The Brits did'nt do to bad either if you remember such themes like

Just good friends
Brushstrokes
Aulvedezen pet (sorry for obvious spelling error)
and 1 of the best BOON! (HIGH HO SILVER)

Its Auf Wiedersen Pet!

And good call on Hunter - used to love that theme tune.

Others worth mentioning:

Its your move - predecessor to Married With Children with Jason Batemen
Airwolf
The Master (Lee Van Cleef Ninja series)
Cagney and Lacey

This is getting messy, just rekindled my love for Mallory Keaton & watched a clip about a rabbit smashing up mice with a baseball bat.

In no particular order, they are the theme tunes to:

Tour of Duty, Crazy Like a Fox, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hunter, The Master, TJ Hooker, Buck Rogers and The Equalizer

Tour of Duty wins it then - unless someone used Gimme Shelter for a theme tune?

Equalizer was a great theme tune - composed by Stuart Copeland (of the Police). Also worthy of a mention are Magnum, Miami Vice and The Wonder Years.

I love Joe Cockers version of A little Help from my friends.

Good call on Wonder Years, cheating a tiny bit as it wasn't written for the show but got goosebumps whenever it started & you got all the crackly waving at the camera footage.
