606v2 ATP Picking Game: Rome Masters
First topic message reminder :
-1 Games Remaining--
How to play:
- Every player has 23 picks. All picks must be used in mens main draw singles matches. The points besides each fixture represent the points you score if that player wins. If your pick is wrong you LOSE 10 points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the tournament is the winner. To play post your picks on this thread, try to number them. A valid pick must be in the format Player A def/over Player B (Winner First). By the end of the tournament all 23 picks must be used, unused picks will be counted as losses. You are allowed to post picks each day until the match starts, so please check the order of play. All picks posted after play starts are invalid and can be replaced. A pick is void if a match does not take place due to withdrawal or a change in the draw but is valid if at least one point is played (so retirements count). Each player will also be able to place “Djoker Cards” on any THREE of their 23 picks. If your "Djoker" pick wins you earn double winnings if he loses you will not lose any points. In case of more than one player being tied on the same score, the tiebreak will be number of right picks, if still tied then by 1st highest scoring pick, 2nd highest scoring pick

Thank you Silver. Very much hoping a question on balance of trade or imports and exports comes up. Odds will go up soon

Re: 606v2 ATP Picking Game: Rome Masters
I really should Djoker against Federer, it's the only way I can get 1st but I find it difficult so to do.
That said, after the semis I'm likely to see lower points matches (like Nadal / Djokovic) where Djokers are less useful. Hmmmm.
No, I'm sticking with TMF; hopefully he'll draw the sting from the lanky big gob and tie him up in knots.

Re: 606v2 ATP Picking Game: Rome Masters
I know the feeling BB...
Do I really expect shirt-ripper to beat Fed? No.
Do I need the points for a win? Yes.
I'm not particularly fond of Dr David Bann-owicz either ...a loud, brash, uncouth behemoth. Everything Federer isn't.
I'm amazed he ripped into Djokovic a couple of months back but then had the temerity to rip-off his shirt ripping routine!
Maybe if he loses today he'll rip the shirt of Federer's back!
Dr. David Bann-owicz - just hurt his hand changing a tennis grip in the pouring rain

Same here, no choice but to go for the upset pick despite rooting for the Fed.
I dread to think what he'll do if he beats Federer! Perhaps a hulk impression followed by a swan dive into the crowd?

Re: 606v2 ATP Picking Game: Rome Masters
Fed was pimp-slapping Simon last night, especially with the multiple service return drop shots.
He won't be able to manhandle Janowicz in the same way, but I think they key will be to give him loads of variety.
These modern kids like drill tennis.

Haha Silver....perhaps the whole lot will get torn off!
Pimp-slapping? That's a new one on me. To be fair Simon looked a little poor and Fed had one of those nights too. Simon has troubled Fed in the past. Nice draw for Roger though!
Aye, if Federer can give The Hulk a varied diet he'll go green behind the gills.

It kind of means a distainful slap around the head or face, like what a bad pimp might do to one of his girls. Very dismissive, implying abused authority.
Also know as giving the pimp hand.

Never thought I'd see the definition of pimp-slapping on a tennis forum, well played chaps I propose that a return drop-shot winner is the equivalent to giving the pimp hand.
I'm seeing Federer in a new light after that one, lydian

There isn't a topic that cant be linked to tennis - its the gift that keeps giving...or slapping
Aye Federer was in his pimp, er pomp, in that advert...good job he didn't sing the "Staying Alive" tune either given his vocal prowess here:
"We are the Swiss" - composed, arranged and delivered by The Maestro himself.

CJB has the magic Djoker as well at least he'll have a nice surprise when he's done with his exam.
I think we're knackered unless Jerzy pulls off the upset, lydian!

Socal would never do that. Although I am interested in a break down from a Djoko fan.
Though the image of Djoko getting pimp slapped around by Berdych was a suprisingly easy one to conjure.
