The Saracens and their South African links bubble up again.
First topic message reminder :
This is my first dig at Sarries all season regarding their South African connections. They have worked hard to anglify their team and development credentials against significant criticism but then they do this:

Hey Doc, long time no speak.
It does concern me as we are the ones losing the talent.
There's 3 Saffas in the French squad to tour NZ too Biltong
It's a conspiracy Biltong! An attempt by SA, NZ and the Pacific Islands to ensure no-one from anywhere else gets to play international rugby
Good plan that Pete, problem is to get rugby out of everyone's genes is going to take a few of our lifetimes.
I dunno, we're nearly there with the Australian project. And all we need next is for Leicester to expand their Tuilagi/Waldrom conversion program (instead of poaching players from Newcastle) and England will go next. Scotland (we can count mcVisser as an honorary Afrikaaner) and France are on the way too. The next step is to expand Ireland's project player program, and to get the Welsh to go back to picking Kiwis with Welsh grannies rather than Englishmen with Welsh parents
Muahahahahaha
(sorry all, boring day at work)

I think project "Gene Clean" is on track in Ireland as well, they have broken the seal with Strauss, so it is only downhill from there.
It is just those pesky Welsh Laddies who is resisting.

NZ's side project to dominate the international coaching ranks is going well too - just a shame Mallett or White didn't get the England job

(Blushing) Sorry wasn't at the meeting in regards to Faletau.
I think they don't like our thick south African accent, but we should not give up hope, White might surprise and take over from Deans.

Re: The Saracens and their South African links bubble up again.
The shame of it is the culture in France is so short-sighted and short term that to fill their quota of French qualified players, clubs are now going to Fiji and places like that and signing promising 16-18 year olds on Academy deals knowing that by the time they are ready for a full contract they will have qualified for France on residency.
Noa Nakaitaci is one of the first of this new breed of French qualified players to get called up for France- before signing on for Clermonts Academy he was Captain of Fijis U19 side. And the players they're signing are only getting younger.
The residency rule has to be looked at.

The same is happening in SA Notch, younger and younger South Africans leave to France and it has been like that for a couple of years now, some of these players you have to track back to when they played Craven Week.

Re: The Saracens and their South African links bubble up again.
So, on one side of this great divide we have the SARU and the SA government conspiring to conquer the world. Spreading South African Rugby players to the four corners of the globe. No doubts leaving their demon seed wherever they go. Slowly converting - nay, evolving the human species to some unknown end. Probably a genetic experiement of some type. Maybe an alien invasion where sooner or later some creature will emerge from the bellies of those infected.
On the other side is Biltong, who simply wants to win at Rugby.

Maybe next time the pitch up to Welford Road the Saracens should be introduced to the full golden quadrangle. So far they have only tried the first leg.

Alternatively you can set up academies overseas and import talent directly http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10874587

Quote from the article "the NZRU has made a pledge to the IRB that it will do what it can to support Pacific Island rugby." - other than playing tests against them ?
