Question for Kiwis...(another)
With a Kiwi head coach and 10% of the Lions squad born in NZ, along with near cousin Tuilagi, who will the Kiwis support? the Welsh, Irish and Kiwi Lions or your Anzac cousins?

There are three Kiwi born players in the squad which isnt quite 10%. Harltey and Vunipola are both quite lucky to be picked and wont make the test team. Hartley in particular is rubbish. Maitland may make the team but I wouldnt have picked him at all as he hasnt been in the NH long enough IMO even if he does at least have Scottish connections.
Anyway Australia have their own Kiwis in Cooper and Ioane so its fairly even.

If I watch rugby which doesn't involve my beloved AB side, I will always support the team that plays the better rugby. With the exception of Scotland, the Pacific teams and the minnows. As a neutral I hope the last game is the decider so that means both sides win at least once. As I have a bet with blues man I'm certainly not wishing for a 3 O lions whitewash as that would involve changing my name.

Aren't Maitland and Cooper cousins? Didn't they used to play rugby against each other as kids?

Us kiwis regard rugby from a far more spiritual perspective than mere passports, citizenship or countries borders, unless we are talking about the All blacks.
With a scenario which arises next month with Australia playing Great Britain (and a lot of New Zealanders involved in some form or another) it would be very hard for us to disregard the spirit of the ANZACS and what it entails, but we really are only just here for the rugby.
Steve McDowell (former all Black and up till recently forwards coach of Romania) phrsed it pretty well when he said something like. whereever you go in this World, and you find Rugby, take a look around, because there will be a Kiwi somewhere nearby....

I'll probably support our ANZAC brothers but not with much vigour. Want to see some good rugby really.
Want to see forwards SMASH each other and some brilliant back play with something like 1/2 tries scored by forwards and 2/3 tries scored by backs.

My observation is that in recent times the clash with the Lions honed the SANZAR team into a better unit able to dominate the others in the trinations; it will be interesting to see how this translates to the RC as fatigue will be a bigger factor and attrition may come into plAy. I don't expect the wallabies to have many standing after the lions smash them physically.

A mate of mine from university is now NZ's ambassador to the Phillipines (amazing considering the amount of beer he sank at uni). Yesterday he posted picks on Facebook of himself with a couple of kiwi players who had big games for the Phillipines vs UAE in the Asian 5-Nations qualifier
