(almost) Friday funnies - top 5 bombed tries
When it comes to to err extracting the urine the Aussies rank up ion the top league.
With that in mind, here's Fox Sports' top five bombed tries of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_EwALPEKESc
Anyone have any other nominations?

Lovely stuff. A few swans there without an egg. And Carling.... "Number Nine, you're making it worse!"

Non-tries were:
1) Will Carling (carried over the dead ball line by tacklers)
2) Greg Somerville for the Rebels
3) Leguizamon for London Irish (Splashton goes wrong)
4) Ben Kay (RWC 2003)
5) Ndugane for Shawrks vs Crusaders (with some nice Shark tank cheerleader shots too )

Yea they are so much better, I just dont think the English Sky crew could do a similar show though, they all take themselves a bit too seriously.
The ESPN crew though, they would be quality.
Oh and you have to love Matt Dunning, he is everything a prop should be!

Seeing as it's Friday, these are a laugh. Not sure what they were thinking in France for the number 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go-PyPgZbi0

That's because he's a centre in a props body

Don't think the Ben Kay one merits a place. Yes, he should have caught the ball, but it was incompetence rather than complete muppetry.
However, any link that includes Captain Bumface's failure to ground the ball isn't all bad.

There was an instance in the 1985 Five Nations when Patrick Esteve was over the try line against England and just had to touch the ball down. He slowed up, and I think it was the Richard Harding who was in his blind spot and dislodged the ball before he could score. The match ended a draw.

Re: (almost) Friday funnies - top 5 bombed tries
The funniest thing about that little incident and Jeff Wilson, was at the beggining of last year Pat Lam was telling Murray Deaker how he had Jeff Wilson now helping him at the Blues, mostly for his brilliant technical skills.
Murray said to Pat "maybe you should of checked with George Gregan first".

Aah the golden age of Stade Francais pre-match entertainment! Always good comedy value. I thought this one would be number one but have to say the highlander one has so much awkwardness it has to be up there!

Re: (almost) Friday funnies - top 5 bombed tries
I just saw a new candidate in the Canada vs Fiji Test. Canadian winger sprints the length of the pitch. Could have gone straight to score but stepped inside the defender instead of beating him on the outside. His step was good but he was a little off balance as he went over the line. He ended up leaving the ball slightly behind as he attempted to touch it down. Referee ruled a knock-on.
Will look for highlights online later. It happened about 10 minutes into the second half.

Here we go.
The incident takes place around 51 minutes into the match when a Fiji attack begins to break down.
Go to the 1:04:30 mark in the following video:

Re: (almost) Friday funnies - top 5 bombed tries
Nice one Rugby Fan. That's a shocker. He just needed to keep running straight. But when you look at the Fijian winger coming back just before the Candian winger steps back, I don't rightly know how that Fijian got even into the frame. Incredible pace.
That singing at the start of the video is shameful. They really shouldn't put mikes anywhere near the players. At times the woman singing the anthem and their singing were worlds apart.

He was shell-shocked afterwards. I liked the way two of his team mates raced up to lift his spirits straight away. He wasn't right for a few minutes.kiakahaaotearoa wrote:That's a shocker.
- Spoiler:
- Thankfully, his team won that match so it didn't affect the result. It's the first time Canada has beaten Fiji in some years
