Released/Championship/National League/Academy Bidding

First topic message reminder :

This page is for bidding for previously released, Championship, National League and academy players who are not currently in the game. In relation to previously released players this can be any player who has been at a team in the game in any of the previous five seasons. In the event that I cannot remember that player being in the game and being released you will need to hunt for some evidence of this for me. The maximum that I will charge for any player in these categories is £5 million, however if a bidding war ensues you may end up paying more.

I will leave all bids a minimum of 24 hours before answering them.

With transfers from other academies etc, if you can put the teams up that they are from would be really helpful - my understanding when you are bidding on another team's players is that the money goes directly to them and that there would effectively be 'compensation' given.

I'd probably reject anything that was £1m for an academy player and set the bench mark at £3m to make this fair on everyone involved as is different from released players etc and then is fair on everyone.

Sorry Chris nobody has any rights to the academy players. They are all free to bid on and their real life club receives none of the cash from the bid. Point of the new rule is to stop the clubs with the best academies in real life having an advantage on here. thumbsup

Cheers for clearing that up. Is there a rule as to whether someone has less than 20 people in an academy and someone bids on his player, can they just be called up or does that start a bidding war? Quite a few guys on here haven't got their best academy players in their academies, some from the teams that havent got the strongest ones too?

Will generally set a price around whether the player has been in Eng u18s, u20s etc, featured in 'A' team games. General figure will be minimum of £2m, but will go up to £5m.

Treat these as national league signings Chris if there isn't a bidding war max price is 2m everyone had a chance to sort their academy out and sort their squad limits out before the new rules came in so if they want someone they didn't include they will have to bid on here as well

Tomkins was very good the other week, only thing that holds him back I think is his speed now. Should be a good game between Sarries and Gloucester, see Sarries having too much power in the pack though.

Shame for Botica that Quins have Evans, as must hold him back from being as good as he could be - look at George Ford's move to Bath, two games and two motm. Good option though as covers 10, 12 and 15 for you.

Quite a few good players were released in the summer that would help bring your team up - sure there is a list of them somewhere. At least with Sarries you have a cracking academy, Nick Tomkins is meant to be a future star.

Deliberately left space in my academy to see who got called into the U18's for this season. There are still players in there that people can pick up if they have space in their academies.
