Released/Championship/National League/Academy Bidding

First topic message reminder :

This page is for bidding for previously released, Championship, National League and academy players who are not currently in the game.  In relation to previously released players this can be any player who has been at a team in the game in any of the previous five seasons.  In the event that I cannot remember that player being in the game and being released you will need to hunt for some evidence of this for me.  The maximum that I will charge for any player in these categories is £5 million, however if a bidding war ensues you may end up paying more.

I will leave all bids a minimum of 24 hours before answering them.

Apart from a few meltdowns Fourie is good at throwing in. Helps when you have lineout monsters like etzbeth or Bekker

Bekker is an amazing target, so good in the line out. Fourie still manages to balls it up though, better 7.

Etzbeth is the main lineout man these days for Sa and stormers . What With Becker injured and now in Japan. Etzbeth had most lineout takes in this RC tournament.pops up all over the lineout

Yea it's something he's improving on, he always was a decent line out op tbh. Just needs to add a carrying game and he'll be awsome, still a youngster though, I'm sure it'll come.

There with the best now. Most metres made by any lock in RC. 46 metres vs Ab's on the weekend and only 21.

Of all the players I have I think it's between him and Ardie Savea who I would be least likely to sell.

Buy lots of these young uns and maybe 1 out of 10 ever fulfill there promise. Had loads I have just ended up releasing who have gone nowhere. Chris has done the same.

I've not seen much of his carrying tbh, still seems a bit lateral like Lawes.

I'm unsure on Savea, not sure he has the nous. He gives away a lot of pens but is a unit, could go either way.

Watch Savea play of late and it's unreal.

Fitzpatrick said he looks like he could change the game the way michael jones did. Comparisons with jones the greatest ever player to play the game are not made lightly

He scores tons of tries for a backrow and dominates the tackle. Not seen him give

Have you watched him play at all in the ITM or super 15. Looks like he will tour in the autumn so will be good to see him in flesh

I've seen him play a few times over the last few weeks as they show ITM on a Sat morning out here.

He gives away a stack of pens, got carded last game for something stupid, can't remember what.

He looks ok, nothing more, time will tell.

Not in the games I've seen he hasn't.

ITM and CC are hard to gauge, neither are that great really.

I know you generally knock players form in the Magners as meaning nothing but I'd say it's a higher standard than both the ITM & CC.

Ardie could become a top class player, isn't he still around 20/21 or so? One of those players who seems to get better every game. Though same can be said about Sam Cane, both offer a completely different game for NZ - shame England havent got 2 opensides like that coming through - been a bit disappointed with Kvesvic so far this season, no chance he'll replace Robshaw for AIs.

Though seeing the way NZ played on Saturday I don't think that there is much chance we will repeat last year's win! Had to be one of the best games I've ever seen.

Dickenson a great signing for you Mat - has looked very good for Saints, pretty sure in 5 games this season he's got motm 3 times now. Really good at getting over the gainline and tough to put down. Be good to see what he is like in HC.

Robshaw was pretty poor v us on Saturday. Blair Cowan gave him a real tough game. Then he went off with a knock. Kvesic has been underwhelming too. Not good signs.

Cane has struggled on the Int scene, he's not the answer to the AB's McCaw issue.

Lacks the physicality to mix it with the big boys. Savea has more of a chance if he develops.

Cane's got good reviews from the games he's played. Wouldn't say he's struggled at all.

Nick I think you are right there with the no7 shirt for England - is a bit of a worry! Just don't see anyone coming through at all, only youngster who plays week in week out at no7 seems to be Sam Jones at Wasps, but not sure how he'll develop.

Each time I've seen Robshaw he's had trouble with the opponent apart from against Worcester.

How many out of the premiership clubs have EQ who start at 7 who'll push for England though?

Cane had a poor Super season and hasn't adapted to physicality, he's support play is good but he's a fairy at the breakdown.

For me Fraser is the one. He has a bit of everything. Reckon he has the potential to be the best. Unless Steffon Armitage comes back to England next year.

Cane has been great this year. His form in the RC been good also. Nz management have managed his number of games well

I really like Fraser, could be a top player. Armitage is good but doubt he'll play for England any time soon

Robshaw is man in possession, haven't seen anything to suggest he'll lose his place tbh

Cane has really struggled, Latimer has been more impressive.

Todd best 7 past McCaw by a mile currently

Must have mis-read his great reviews he had in the South African game at Eden Park and the last Argentina game. He's only 21 so got a lot more to come from him I think, wouldn't mind him being English!

Can't see how we can't produce a decent no7, you look at NZ, SA and the Aussies and each has 2-3 that would be in the England team before Robshaw or Kvesvic. Guess it is the style they play in the southern hem - but doesnt seem to stop Wales either!

I would say faring well against nz and Argentina is playing at the top level. I
Like Fraser. Wonder how much game time he will get with burger in such form.

Faring well against Arg when your team is complete control isn't a great indication, he gets bullied by most at Int level.

Ah so same must apply for Cruden then Or do we judge players on a different basis...

Cruden has been the best FH in the S15 for the last two seasons and has shone at Int level. So no I don't judge them on a different basis.

Cane is a good young 7 but has done little at Int level over the last year and hasn't been great in the S15.

That's my opinion, your entitled to your own.

Everyone has their opinion and is entitled to it.

Should have but people like to stand their ground, no problems with constructive debates.

We all view things differently, there's always a bit of bias towards your own player too(except with Saull)

I think even Andy Saull can't escape that one...
