We understand that James Harris has a side strain.
All rather curious as Harris bowled 3 balls before a shower, then Murtagh finished his over 15 mins or so later. Harris was still on the field, however, whilst they await a substitute.
Now off for rain again. To be honest its hardly raining at all but the umpires have been very keen to get off at the slightest hint of a shower.

Not a great day for Middlesex but a terrific one for Alex Lees.
Here is my match report, including an interview with Lees - http://deepextracover.com/home/centurion-lees-prepared-for-career-of-comparisons-with-root/

Yorkshire going well despite the early wickets of Lees (first ball of the day to the returning Harris) and Sayers. Rashid was dropped on 0 and it could be damaging - he's now on 21.

Is Alex Hales injured? Or has he been dropped because of his poor Championship form?

A frustrating day at Lord's curtailed by rain and bad light.
Gale continued his good form as did Rashid, dropped before he had scored he batted brightly for 72.Harris gained Lees wicket with the day's first ball, but still feeling discomfort bowled little subsequently.Murts finished with three wickets as did the improving Rayner.Robson fell cheaply in Middlesex's reply
With better weather forecast for the final two days,a positive result remains a possibility

Here are my musings on today's play - http://deepextracover.com/home/yorkshire-retain-whip-hand-after-curtailed-day/
Interesting that you say Harris felt pain after bowling. I did notice that he only bowled four before lunch but he looked pretty normal after lunch.
All in all not a hugely eventful day, at least not after lunch. Tomorrow is likely to be the definitive day in this one I think - if Middx can bat well and avoid the follow on then a draw is certain.

Essex had an okay day - yet again our top order capitulated (Mickleburgh has to go back to the minors and get his technique sorted), Tendo and Foster to the rescue yet again
My namesake Saj did well with the bat, I hope he can bowl to a decent standard too.

This Yorkshire side seems very impressive. Hammering Middlesex and all without Ballance, Brooks, Rafiq, Bresnan, Bairstow and Root.

Not going to plan for Middlesex. Lover's prediction on the Middlesex thread that only rain could save Yorks in this match is looking a tad optimistic....

Here are my ramblings on day three - http://deepextracover.com/home/plunkett-and-patterson-put-yorkshire-on-the-brink-of-victory/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Another disappointing day which higlighted the issues which the middle order face - soft dismissals, particularly second time round, a lack of form and perhaps the 'keeper batting a spot too high.
That said, Middlesex were superb. All of the bowlers bowled a terrific length and beat the bat on numerous occasions. Patterson in particular was outstanding, as was Plunkett.
A real dig in needed tomorrow but in all probability Yorks will be top of the table some time just before or after lunch.

Bowled pretty well I thought, though he didn't come on until Middlesex were already in real trouble (didn't bowl at all first innings). There were a few more loose deliveries than with the seamers, but you always expect that with a leggie.

Trying to look on the bright side.I anticipate that the proven resilience and fighting quality of our middle and lower order will reveal themselves today.I visualise Yorkshire chasing about 150 at 6 an over and coming to a sticky emd in response.COME ON THE MIGHTY MIDDLE!!!!!!!!!

Was that Lees maiden first class century, or his maiden Champioship century? ie do the fixtures with the MCCU teams count as first class fixtures?
Any way Midds have already lost the 5th wicket.

Now 7 down. I really did not expect us to start the season like this - especially after the hammering first up from Sussex.

London Tiger - having been dismissed for 14 in their first innings against Essex at the People's Republic of Chelmsford back in '83, I'm pretty sure Surrey came back strongly to force a draw.

Re: County Championship Round 10 Discussion Thread
I'm having problems with quotes after the re-design (won't let me type outside of the quote) so sorry for the Twitter style reply.
@LondonTiger - The 100 against the uni does count as first class. We now have a curious compromise where the unis first two games per season only are first class.
Quite some day of Championship cricket today; the best of the season I think:
Yorkshire completing their win over Middlesex very easily before lunch. Here is my report, including some reaction from Jason Gillespie and Richard Scott - http://deepextracover.com/home/yorkshire-highlight-title-credentials-as-middlesex-blown-away/ .
Thrilling win for Durham v Warwickshire. All results were possible right through the day but Warwickshire looked set for the win when Jeetan Patel and Ateeq Javid put on 86 for the eighth wicket. But that man Onions got both of them and Boyd Rankin could only manage 1, giving Durham an 11 run win.
A lot of rain between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, though Michael Lumb between times.
As discussed above Essex bowled out for 20. I can't believe Chapple is still going strong - he looked to be on his last legs two seasons ago.
A very weird match between Hampshire and Gloucestershire which ended in a Gloucestershire win on day three after the use of a double forfeiture. A rather desperate move from Jimmy Adams who was willing to chase 411! They only made 212 with Will Gidman taking 4 wickets. Whilst I understand the basic reasons for the decision it would surely have been best to play normally for another day before setting up a chase so that they had the fall back of the draw (and could collect batting bonus points...).
Kent have an 11 run lead against Glamorgan following on. Could be an interesting last day.
Leics-Northants was a very boring and very wet draw.

Our record, and the Herts League record for a side batting first, is 14. Looking at our teamsheet that might be under threat tomorrow if our openers get out cheaply....

Vital matters at stake in the Notts v Derby match drifting to a draw. Notts need 17 runs for their final batting point and Derby need 1 wicket for their 2nd bowling point. Plenty of overs left, but hopefully Notts will declare as soon as they get their batting point. (Not that Surrey are desperate of course to see Derby do badly .)
