Greatest ever Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight Champion Qualifier match
The Dynamite Kid Cup (in recognition of the FACT he was the greatest ever ever ever Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight regardless of the fact he never held either WCW or WWE versions of the title, although he did win the WWWF Junior Heavyweight title).
Greatest ever Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight Champion Qualifier match 7 as sponsored by 'Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story.'
The two wrestlers moving on from the highly contentious match 5 are Paul London and Taka Michinoku with an equal number of votes.
On to match 7 of the newly renamed 'Dynamite Kid Cup', in recognition of the fact he's the greatest ever ever ever Light Heavyweight! Only one more to go from the qualifiers.
Oklahoma - Otherwise known as Ed Ferrara, a former writer and booker for the 'E' and WCW, he has also written many successful television programmes.!In 1999 in WCW, he took the onscreen name of Oklahoma and began copying WWE announcer Jim Ross, also mimicking his Bell's Palsy. He had previously done an impersonation of Ross in the WWE during an angle with Tiger Ali Singh where he was called from the audience as a fan and did his Ross impression. Jim Cornette would later spit in his face and challenge him to a fight for making fun of his long-time friend, Jim Ross. He defeated Madusa for the Cruiserweight title. The character was considered by most as distasteful and nothing more than a means for Russo and Ferrara to put their own grievances on the air. Ross has since reconciled with Ferrara following an open letter to him.
Daffney - Both Crowbar and Daffney were declared the Cruiserweight Champion when Daffney pinned Tammy, the partner of Cruiserweight Champion Chris Candido, in a mixed-tag match. Crowbar and Daffney then met up on May 22, to decide the undisputed Cruiserweight Champion. In the end, it was Daffney walking away with the crown, becoming the second woman to ever hold the Cruiserweight Championship.
Brian Pillman - The long-ignored cruiserweight division finally received the recognition it deserved when WCW held a tournament in October 1991 to crown the first-ever WCW Cruiserweight Champion. In the finals of the tournament, Brian Pillman defeated Richard Morton for the title.
Funaki - Spike Dudley needed an opponent for Armageddon, so to determine the No. 1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long booked a TAG TEAM MATCH PLAYA!........ sorry, i meant a Cruiserweight Battle Royal. The winner would become the No. 1 Contender, and that winner ended up being Funaki. Funaki made the most of his rare opportunity and after seven years of hardwork and determination, he captured his first Cruiserweight Championship, shocking Spike Dudley in the process.
Elix Skipper - Skipper, also known as 'primetime' and part of the faction 'Team Canada' despite being American. He was awarded the title, known within the faction as 'the 100kg and under championship'. He went on to lose the title to Mike Sanders who renamed it the Cruiserweight title.
Evan Karagias - In October 1999, Karagias was seen more and more with woman wrestler Madusa. He was allowed to compete in the World Title tournament, but quickly allowed Madusa to pin him after a kiss. After her elimination, Madusa put all her focus on managing Karagias. Karagias then became the number one contender to the Cruiserweight Championship, which was held by Faaaaaannnnnddddaaaannnnnggggooooo, sorry, i meant Disco Inferno. At Mayhem, Karagias challenged Disco Inferno for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship and won after Inferno was attacked by the faction 'Creative Control'.This was also Karagias's first major championship. Karagias began to have problems with Madusa, since Karagias appeared to have a wandering eye towards the Nitro Girls, specifically Spice. This led to a catfight between the two ladies, with Karagias in the middle. Afterwards, Madusa challenged Karagias to a Cruiserweight Championship match at Starcade. During the match Spice gave Karagias a low blow allowing Madusa to pin him and become the first female ever to win the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship.
I'm looking forward to reading your comments.
