Macc have now had to withdraw the offer and apologise to the FA and Conference for putting the plan together.

I think its brilliant. 

Conference - decent standard of football, some random guy could come on and score a winner. For a supporter, i think its superb. Easy money maker for the non league club as well.

Yes and some guy could come on and deliberately score 5 own goals, and send the team further down the leagues. Great idea

And if someone is stupid enough to pay 20 grand to play 10 minutes of a conference game then quite frankly they're off their rocker, or have more money than sense

yeah ill admit 20,000 is a lot of money. However i think the catch is your donating 20,000 to your football club, to help it survive and as a way of saying thank you they will give you 10 minutes of football in a real live game. 

I doubt someone would pay 20,000 to go and screw up a team.

I think its a real shame the FA have (and I dont think Macc withdrew this without pressure) forced Macclesfield to take this offer back. I dont see this is as disrespect to the league, the club are desperate to survive, not desperate to buy a foreign winger or something.

I think this was a very odd idea. Surely they would have had to register them?

Plus, would they have been allowed to play without a contract? Or was that part of the deal?

He paid £10,000 to appear in a friendly against Stoke....he limped off after 10 minutes. He was 40 years old as well!
