This says a lot about the GutCheck concept, TNA should just do away with it all together.
I don't think that any of the releases will hurt TNA, maybe Rayne as she was a solid knockout wrestler. Joey Ryan had an interesting gimmick but wasn't used effectively by management. Crimson had a good run with the streak but didn't get over much.

This smacks of applying a plaster to a minor graze whilst an artery is left untreated.
Guys that earn $200 a show and that's only if they wrestle dumped yet wastes of space still raking it in for nothing.

Shame about Joey Ryan, wasnt much in the ring but felt like he could have got some cheap heel heat on a consistent basis.
The X-Division now has 4 wrestlers? 5 if you count the multiple personalities of Spiderman

So, 6 (Petey Williams)? Spud sounded unconvinced that he would be moved up soon. The others have not, I don't think, had an x division match since I've been watching (coming up to a glorious one year anniversary).
Could do them some good to move Aries back down but only in contrast to not using him. I also really dislike Zema Ion, but yes he is in that bracket.
Maybe they will consider Marty again as he still has a contract.

I thought Rayne was pregnant??
And I'm certainly no expert in American law, but in Britain I thought you couldn't get released (fired) whilst off with pregnancy??

I thought she had the baby? Maybe she doesn't want to wrestle and asked for a release?

Re: Impact Wrestling releases 5
This might shed some more light on releases:
According to a direct source in OVW, TNA/OVW trainee Rip Rogers was reportedly trying to extort money from the company. We were told he wanted to get paid from the trainees for their instruction in the advanced class. So, the talent was relegated to the Intermediate class and away from Rip.
These TNA "refugees" were basically winners on Gut Check first and then told about going to OVW. WZ was told this is probably why Adam Pearce didn't "win" because he wasn't going to take the OVW assignment.
Additionally, we reported earlier that today's talent releases were mostly a cost cutting measure, and in an update on Doug Williams, who was also recently released from TNA, WZ was told "Why wouldn't TNA pay Doug Williams when they promised him a job as trainer? Because they didn't want to pay to renew his visa."
Sounds like TNAs in some chaos, aren't there rumours going around that talents being paid late on the roster.
